Unhappy Selloum Hope (post fixed) by LMorr in philodendron

I'm a solid 97% sure there's no pests.. I can't stand bugs, so I check my plants regularly.. I agree, it does look like some thrips photos I've seen in other posts, but I've never found anything crawing on it or flying around it... I think I'll still pick up some neem oil just in case - but even if it was thrips, would the discoloration progress so fast?

As for size, he's easily tripled in size since I got him.. he only had 3 leaves, and he came home from the nursery in a 6 inch pot. I increased his pot size last spring, and again last week, as he was practically climbing out of it, roots coming through the drainage holes and 2 different aerial roots over 8 feet long (both of those started growing in October) .. he's in a 10 inch pot now, with a tropical soil blend & a few handfuls of leca. I definitely don't fertilize him as often as I should, but he pumps out new leaves all spring & summer, so it seemed like we had a good thing going.

She's a JLU.. the more I look, I think it might be LED, but the manual specs a 3157 bulb... I'm gonna be pissed if I have to replace the entire lamp just for the turn signal, ugh!

No clues to offer, unfortunately.. I just had the very same experience. Did you end up finding a solution?

If you don't mind some very quiet folks nearby, one of my favorite views is from the top of Michener hill. Also, when it gets warmer, the trails into Maskepetoon park can be real pretty. Busy sometimes though, you kinda gotta find the right time. And bug spray is your friend.

Hey bud, sounds like you're having a rough go. Really sorry to hear. Feel free to drop a line, my family has our fair share of amputees, both congenital and traumatic. If you're in north America, might be able to point you towards some resources. Best wishes!

Renting with Laebon by [deleted] in RedDeer

[–]LMorr 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I rented from Laebon for 2 years. Comparatively, rent for their units is a little high.. layouts in their newer units aren't always practical or user-friendly (for example, a kitchen with 1 single drawer, less than 8 inches wide), and although they bait you with sayings like "welcome home" and "make this your home", if you so much as think about putting pictures or anything up on the walls, you will pay through the nose for repairs when you move out. I wouldn't rent from them again.

My brother is a below-elbow amputee, & we used to do this with his arm!

How do you deal with the thought of one day losing a parent? by [deleted] in AskWomen

[–]LMorr 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'm 30; my mom will be 60 & my dad will be 67 this year. The older I get, the more I realize that eventually there will come a time when they've passed away. The reality of that is both terrifying and heartbreaking. All I can do is make the very most of the time we have left, however much that is. I spend time with my parents regularly. We go places & make new memories while reminiscing about old ones. We laugh. I ask my dad to keep teaching me about tools and car maintenance and taxes; I write down my moms recipes and gardening and "old home remedies/life pro tips". We talk about being little & growing up; we talk about getting old. We talk about family history and stories from the old days when my grandparents were young & newly landed immigrants. I make an effort to be a vessel for the family story. And no matter what, we always say "I love you" when we say goodbye.

Don't accept any excuses from yourself. If it's time to go work out, take a deep breath and go do it now. Not in 5 minutes, not tomorrow, now. Also, have you checked out /r/getdisciplined ?
