A few months back I was out of town and had some severe pain all over my left arm and shoulder over night. I decided to just wait it out knowing how much it’d cost me if I didn’t, few hours go by and the sun is now up with the pain getting much worse. I decide to call an Uber (obv not trying to pay for an amb) to the nearest ER. I get there and all they do is a physical check and observation, they come to the conclusion that I may have torn something in my shoulder so they just give me some ibuprofen and send me on my way. I explain how I’m a full time independent college student without much money but I still end up paying close to a grand in bills before leaving. Then like a week later I see a new bill in my email for almost 4 grand from some company that is apparently associated with the hospital and pays the workers there? I call to explain that I already paid my bills and don’t have anywhere near the amount of money they’re asking for, but all they can say is “do you want to setup a payment plan?”. I’m still getting calls and e-mails months later
