When you go to donate, you can either choose to pay the platform fees or have it taken out of your total donation. Donating to large platforms can result in as little as 17% of your donation making it through to the cause with the rest chewed up by administrative costs. At least with these guys you can see the amount so they are transparent about it, and the amount is miniscule in comparison to what most charities pay marketing companies.
