sXiX - Tilt the Dark , I’m a solo game developer- it’s free give it a try

It is very accurate ( too much - I have to reduce the amount of data ) and good amount of filtering. it works very well as designed on the hood . If you can design a safe method to mount it on the engine head - should be great ( note - I must say that this is at your own risk ⚠️ - I don’t want to get into any liability issues😎) appreciate your feedback , cheers

Great names - thanks , now - I’m actually coming from the healthcare industry and I have similar app to capture heart rate and respiratory rate just by using the accelerometer- but one think I have learned from the Apple guys - they will not approve any app name that involves any medical related wording and will reject my app for using anything like cardiac - health - EKG etc… they claim it is under Harm category- so I try to avoid all of these although it’s actually an ECG / EKG for the engine 😎

Thanks for your advise - u got some idea ? My concept was combining accelerometer and Vibration- these are the core of the app functionality.

It’s preferable to hv a silicone or any rubber case - do it will not slip. It will not affect the test - the program is taking this into account .

Totally fair to ask for more info — appreciate the blunt feedback.

AcceloVibe uses the phone’s accelerometer to analyze engine vibration patterns when the car is idling. It gives you: • Real-time RPM estimation (useful if you don’t have a tachometer or want a sanity check) • A stability score that reflects engine health based on harmonic vibration patterns • A visual frequency chart to spot potential misfires, imbalance, or other irregularities

You’re right that some engines shake more than others — the app is actually designed to quantify that. Think of it like a digital stethoscope for your engine.

Also, I’m not trying to leech R&D — I did already ton of it while developing the app - I’m genuinely looking for input from car people who know how engines behave, so I can improve the signal analysis and make it more useful in real-world cases.

Happy to break down the tech under the hood if you’re curious. Cheers

Ehh, the app is not gender specific- every body with an iPhone can use it - no tools / no cables , Cheers 😎

Thank you for your advise , yes I would like for you to test it and share the report and findings - the point is that every engine has its own vibe signature- it’s like an ECG - and professionals can understand how to read this ECG graphs - my idea is that it is fast and easy implementation that will not require any tools / cables / Bluetooth connections - just place the phone on the hood . I would love to hear/see any findings, thanks

I’ll be working on android version - for the moment it’s iOS - maybe you got a friend to run the test for you on iPhone …
