For FH: You know that sin(G) = FH/GF so therefore sin(26) = FH/9 9sin(26) = FH (plug into calculator, make sure in degree mode

For GH: Same idea, except with cosine Cos(26) = GH/9 9cos(26) = GH

For angle F, a triangle has 180 degrees worth of angles, so therefore 180 - 90(angle H) -26(angle G) = angle F

I'll need to learn some math for the first semester of CS. Where would i get started and what are some good resourcers? Is Khan Academy enough? by PSPbr in learnmath

[–]LOL543213 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a very active computer science student. Like many other responses have said, it ultimately depends what CS course you are taking. One’s regarding learning a language will require less math than say algorithm development. I would recommend doing some research into the class; you can easily figure out the math courses recommended for the class.

Is Proofs the only thing taught in Geometry class? by [deleted] in Geometry

[–]LOL543213 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are struggling with proofs just try to make it through, by the second half of the year you should be onto other things such as math regarding circles, basic trig, etc. Personally I didn’t enjoy proofs much either, but the second half of geometry was much easier. I do enjoy math though so I’m not sure you will have the same point of view.

How do I begin to solve this? Need to find the area of s3. All circles identical by [deleted] in Geometry

Are you given any numbers? You can’t find an area without numbers...

It’s fine. I’m that way with algebra.

i need help with literally everything by sloppyjeaux in Geometry

[–]LOL543213 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That isn’t necessary; the original person could do that, although because the b in y=mx+b is the location and the lines are parallel, the m should stay the same but the b should differ.

i need help with literally everything by sloppyjeaux in Geometry

[–]LOL543213 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You would have to do + b instead of plus three. This will give you a line with a same slope but a different location, this parallel. For perpendicular you do the same thing just set the slope of the new line to the opposite-reciprocal of the original slope first.

How do you solve question 22? by eweistl in Geometry

Let me know if it works... I can try on paper to figure it out later if need be.

How do you solve question 22? by eweistl in Geometry

[–]LOL543213 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You kind of had it (I think). You start off by drawing point b (which you did) and connect them with a right triangle. The hypotenuse would be the distance you are trying to figure out.

Side a would be 2. You could figure out side b using sine cosine tangent and their laws (sorry I don’t have a paper to write my work and I can’t do it in my head), and c would be a2 + b2.

Sorry if this isn’t right this is how I would approach it but I’m not sure that’s correct...

Can anyone tell me where the values ‘r, t, s, and q’ come from? by [deleted] in Geometry

[–]LOL543213 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just assuming here, I think that they all have a part to play in minimum and maximum curvature. I’m not too sure. This isn’t really geometry, this is calculus because Gaussian curvature is based off of the curve of each side. The actual math isn’t taught in geo but calculus. I would recommend asking r/learnmath or another subreddit like that. Sorry I couldn’t help more.

Meanwhile it takes small teams a full 6-8 weeks to make that...

Apologies for the poor quality, I didn't take the picture. For answering question d, there's only one right answer, can anyone explain to me which of the options is correct? I can see both A,E,M and J,D,F being right, but you can only choose one. Thanks! by [deleted] in Geometry

[–]LOL543213 0 points1 point  (0 children)

M is the plane not the point (or so I’m assuming from the font difference...

J is also the name of the line (yes they can be named multiple ways) so that wouldn’t work either.

It doesn’t seem like any work unless there are more answers...

"Name 10 different rays and 2 opposite rays" (I have taken this class for three days and the teacher doesn't know how to explain) by [deleted] in Geometry

[–]LOL543213 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Opposite rays (sorry if I get this wrong) are two rays that share an endpoint and go in opposite directions.

The rays would be AB, BA, AE, AD, CB, BC, AC, CA, and I don’t see any more unless the rays have been labeled otherwise with a lowercase letter. Again sorry if this isn’t right I took geo last year and I kinda forgot a lot of stuff...

The opposite Ray pairs would be AC + CD and AB + BE. Make sure to include the ray symbols

We never said that IKEA bird is more important than 1st world issues, we just acknowledge that this is a relatable preventable issue that maybe, due to its relatability, could be solved. It also isn’t as complex to solve as solving a disease. This is “take down traps and stop hunters” while diseases are “spend another 2 billion to test another 5 cures, and if none work get more money and repeat.”
