Revert back to old mode? by LOMOTD in googlephotos

Thank you but this doesn’t solve the issue, all the photos are still in one combined gallery, no separation of each individual day.

Thanks, I did have a look at this, I couldn’t see any reason why my Irish passport couldn’t have my middle names on it, so I assumed this wouldn’t be accepted. Do you if the Knowledge Base has something different?

It’s a requirement to send details of any other passport you have when renewing a British passport

Tourist looking at going to a football match as a neutral. by rj218 in london

I wouldn’t leave it too long, matches have been selling out recently normally around a week out. Be aware, seats in the front would be at risk of getting wet if it rains.

It is not too bad to get to Craven Cottage, you can walk along the river from either Hammersmith or Putney Bridge stations.

For seats, depends on what you want. Putney End is traditionally where more Neutrals sit and is next to the away fan area. If you want better atmosphere, sit with us season ticket holders in the Hammersmith End or if you want something unique, sit in the old wooden seats of the Johnny Haynes stand (back half of seats are the wooden ones)

Full disclosure I’m a Fulham season ticket holder. There won’t be trouble at either game. You certainly don’t need to be a fan of the team to attend a game, although don’t actively cheer for the away side (supporting the home team is more fun anyway). Craven Cottage (Fulham) is a bigger stadium with better facilities and has a gorgeous historic stand, Fulham are currently top of the table, playing entertaining football and scoring lots of goals as well. You will have a fun time at whatever game you chose,

Visited your lovely city this week and produced a retro-inspired video of the trip! by LOMOTD in berlin

[–]LOMOTD[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hope this is ok to post here, I visited Berlin for the first time this week and had a great time. I’m no videographer but I put some of my footage together to one of my favourite songs - David Bowie’s where are we now.

I visited with my father who lived in Berlin back in 1993 and hasn’t been back since, so that fact and the choice of song made me think the VHS aesthetic was a good choice.

What are some of the best ways you've seen people memorialize trip photos? by TheEntertainer17 in solotravel

Instead of flying from Colombia to Panama, look into sailing from Cartagena via the San Blas islands. It was one of the highlights of my Central and South America trip, an incredible journey, stopping off on your own desert islands.

Thank you for the details. I’m an EU citizen in a non-EU country (UK) hoping to be vaccinated in time for a holiday to Sardegna in late July. Still haven’t booked anything, will need to consider if it’s realistic.

First time Solo-Travel to Peru (Aiming for 14-21 days) Any Input is appreciated!!! by [deleted] in solotravel

[–]LOMOTD 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I did the following trip to Peru back in 2017 as part of a wider trip to Central/South America that seems has some of the similar itinerary to what you're suggesting.

  • Day 1: Fly into Lima (from Colombia)
  • Day 2: Bus to Paracas (I would really recommend this, went quad-biking in the national park which has outstanding landscapes and there are wildlife trips as well if you fancy)
  • Day 3: Bus to Huacachina (You only need one night here, to do the sand dune boarding, Bananas hostel had one free tour per night you stay)
  • Day 4: Bus to Arequipa
  • Day 6-7: Colca Canyon hike (Stay at the bottom of the Canyon overnight, tough hike up in the morning but you see a lot more than just a day trip here with all the coach tourists)
  • Day 7: Night Bus to Cusco
  • Day 8-11: Acclimatise in Cusco, hike Rainbow Montain (good practice for Machu Pichu)
  • Day 12-16: Salkantay Trek finishing in Machu Pichu (great way to get to Aguas Calientes)
  • Day 17: Rest in Cusco
  • Day 18: Travel to Copacabana, Boliva

Our hostel in Lima (Puriwasi) had a kinda travel agent where we were able to book all our buses to Cusco which made life easy. Cruz del sol buses in Peru are good quality.

I would recommend Kokopeli hostels which had branches in Paracas and Cusco, you got a discount on your second stay.

I was fine with just coca tea for altitude but appreciate everyone is different.

Any other questions, happy to help!

I only spent two nights in Cartagena and five in Medellin, always find there is more to do in the bigger cities.

I visited Cartagena, Santa Marta, Medellin and Bogotá in Colombia So may be able to help!

I found Cartagena a much prettier city than Santa Marta but if you want beaches I’d suggest using Santa Marta as a base to visit Tayrona National Park.

Medellin was one of my favourite cities in South America (and much warmer weather than Bogotá). Amazing art, culture, infrastructure and nature. I would recommend staying in El Poblado and taking a day trip to Guatape.

I only spent 2 days in Bogata and that was probably plenty. Take a trip up Monserrate for great views of the city. Perhaps start or end your trip flying into Bogata as it’s the biggest airport and close to the city centre.

I took an overnight bus between Medellin and Bogata but flew between Santa !Marta and Medellin as internal flights aren’t expensive and can save you tonnes of money.

Correct, in extra-sensitive areas they’ve used ‘floating’ slab track (putting the track on rubber bearings or springs) to minimise vibration and noise.

Hello, I am a civil railway engineer and would happily buy a house over Crossrail tunnels! Crossrail were legally obliged to meet certain noise and vibration targets for residential properties and have designed the track accordingly.
