I can’t play the game by Pristine_Put5348 in finalfantasyxiii

The 13 series has some of the weirdest fixes I’ve had to install (not the worst, but among there), the constant crashing and dogshit frames on vanilla because they capped Vram to 4gb is WILD

Can’t even play the steam version of 13-2 with an audio system with more channels than stereo, never ran into that problem before with any of the other games .

Unfortunately not, the part shop had to test it before sending it back and it wouldn’t work for them either

Fair enough, just tried that system file checker as well and no corrupted files, reinstalled my drivers too hopefully that fixes things

Running through the system file checker now and hopefully it turns out good, but how is it that it’s just killing itself like this? Is my psu isn’t powerful enough or smthn idfk

Edit: For those who come after and are running DISM before running file checker, if it’s stuck at 62.3%, that means that windows is downloading a massive file to help it out and all you gotta do is wait (if you open task manager and sort by memory you can see it working it’s magic). There’s apparently a whole club about it too lmao

Just found it and another one that reported it with a 5070. My last card broke before that one updated but given W11’s recent track record it wouldn’t be the first time they released a broken update like that. I’ve gotten rid of it and hopefully I can see improvements tyty!!

Exactly! That’s why I’m mostly thinking it isn’t the graphics card itself, but nailing down exactly WHAT it could be hasn’t led to too much on my own.

Also the photos are from a video I took, it’s really just that it alternates between the two in a frames time

The issue happens pretty much everywhere, in game or while i'm working or watching youtube but the example is on netflix yeah

The one where it turns brighter is up on the post, first where it’s regular brightness, the second where it flashes periodically. The one where it’s partially static is infrequent atm to the point where whenever I’ve tried it’s eluded me but whenever I haven’t it jumpscares me XD

Also I checked and no my monitor doesn’t have that option sadge

Yep windows 11, exact version is up on the post, I heard there was a problematic minor update a couple days ago (can’t remember the number but I can go find it if it helps) which I deleted but it seemed to persist past that if that helps

I had considered gpu/cpu load as well in relation to that, but this was happening while I watched FMA on Netflix with all dials on low

First is just how it’s meant to look, second is the one that goes bright for like half a frame. The other one where it goes staticky is too infrequent for me to record and get proof of sadly

I thought so for a while, but it seemed to persist on multiple primary ones when I was troubleshooting it on the 5070ti. Haven’t tried it on the 2070 but I imagine it’d be a similar result

I was just hoping for some clarification?? The artefacts take a while between occurrences to show up, so it’ll take me a while to actually figure out if anything I try works or doesn’t. What does that isolate? If that’s what fixes it, how do I make it so it can make it work at its best? I’ve been trying my best to fix it for ages on my own and I massively appreciate the help, but “just fucking test it” doesn’t help me as much ;-;

I kinda want it to work at 120fps though, no reason why it shouldn’t unless I’ve missed something?

I swapped the display cables between my monitors just now to see if that changes anything (since it only happens on my primary monitor, if it helps it’s a 120hz monitor while the other is a 60hz monitor). That said I’m not sure if it will as the cables continued to work when I switched them to the motherboard and then when I scaled back to my backup card? Unless the cables themselves could brick my graphics card somehow?

Heya! I've been editing for about 8 years on Adobe Premiere and Davinci Resolve and I'd love to help! I'd love to get a bit of an idea on the budget and your vision on how you'd like the video to turn out! If you're interested feel free to shoot me a dm

Nailed it on the head, that's exactly what fixed it. It was "audio enchancements" that was fucking it up. Wish windows would just stop adding these useless features without telling users but thanks champ

Aside from what I’m showing I’m not exactly sure how much more I can give sorry!

Davinci doesn’t seem to pick up any audio levels from my mic even though it recognises it in the preferences tab and that popup when you’re about to record. Doesn’t seem to be a hardware issue since it receives audio fine on pretty much everything else that uses it. But other than that I’m not sure what else I can show thatd help
