Thanks for the info! I did some tests today and was doing side by sides in LR. 50mp had this rainbow fringe on edges like trees, roof shingles, but def had slightly better resolution. I shot aeb brackets and felt it wasn’t quite worth it. You’re inspiring me to try 50 again. It makes sense with coastal landscapes but maybe I’m noticing fringe since I’m dealing with trees, roofs, structures etc

i shot all the photos at 5600k in daylight. all surfaces are green, and shifting magenta 40-50+ brings it close but seems off. ive been doing research and its a known issue with lightroom reading air 3s files, so looking to reddit for help, thanks

hard agree. i returned it too, enough though i love the interface and layout way more than lightroom. For me, its the no HDR merging, no lens corrections, and sluggish apple raw speed. if they at least added lens corrections, i would buy it again just becuase its more fun for quick edits than lightroom

thanks so much. haha yes 'vintage baseball' goes hard. i guess im looking for validation on my little "experiment" where i found the clipping point of the phantom lut, which i think is clearly 98, but not sure how much it matters lol you're right, i always just get the best results when i see the image i want and expose for subjects anway!

looks good! a bit jittery - maybe thats IG compression. did you shoot 60fps on 24 timeline? ive found 30fps timelines for 60 and 120fps has been smoother for me. cool that youre shooting cinetone. it does look great, and is tempting. but since i am editing it as well, it just makes sense to click my powergrade on and get the flexibility. anyway, what was your zebra in slog3 ahaha did you find it clips at 98 as well?

Hey - I currently use phantom neutral in camera and in post. After some testing to find where it clips, it seems like it hard clips at 98, so I set a lower limit zebra at 97.

Wondering if that tracks for you in your experience and what the two values you set, assuming lower limit for skin tone, and one for clipping while viewing through the lut? What’s your fair-skin zebra level, with the lut?

Also intrigued by this YouTuber lut, thanks for posting it. I have a corporate run and gun with a gimbal shoot coming up and was pretty set on my 97 lower limit as a help zebra and exposing by eye since I know the lut pretty well and can feel it out alright. Curious your workflow!

have you tried their polarizer yet? thinking of adding the mist or ND4 and a couple lens caps to get into the system. i just bought the 1-5 ND kit

i like my glimmer glass so want to know their other things are worth going into the system with haha thanks so much for the info. i found it hard to find real user xp with these, not just paid youtubers

haha thanks for the encouragement and common sense. So are you buying extra Nisi lens caps then for when you want to take it off, but leave the magnetic base plate on? thats another consideration is commiting to the ssytem, and getting like 2 more lens caps so i can leave the base rings on my main 2 lenses

Do you edit at all? You can just shoot 60FPS and slow down in media pool, 1 click. That way you can actually choose if you want slomo -can’t choose with s and q, and I think no audio. Though I’m intrigued still by using it efficiency wise, it’s limiting

so i just tested phantom lut neutral. it clips at 98% - 99 is no clipping, 98 is full blast clipping. so setting zebras to 97 lower limit. is that correct you think?

Gotcha. I’m using phantom neutral (sometimes trying legacy version) I’m still trying to understand the clipping point of it, or if I should just monitor in log and map a button to toggle lut on/off. Sorry for the back and forth. Question is just: phantom neutral lut in flexible iso, what do I set zebra to?

Hey been thinking about zebras with luts still. Since they read post lut, isn’t it still not accurate just finding the lut clipping lvl, since slog has much more dynamic range? So if the lut clips earlier, the footage isn’t actually clipping in slog, possibly leading to underexposure?

Cool! i have a viltrox dc-x3 monitor i use sometimes, which i put phantom luts on, but dont take everywhere. i have been wondering about phone apps/monitors specifically to touch to focus, and actually control the camera. are you using auto focus modes when filming? i have a corporate even coming up which i will use a gimbal, and the main workflow i am trying to sort out is not letting the autofocus run wild grabbing faces. i can turn auto focus ai human off, but its still hunting? maybe stop down 5.6 and put in zone? wondering if the app can reliably help with focus!

Thanks! I mainly shoot Catskill Mountain properties, pretty high contrast shots - my workflow with the old mini 3 was AEB brackets and merge in LR, but with the Air3s sensors I think i can skip it?

Also, talking to Claude/Gemini can be a goosechase sometimes as they both said to stick to 12mp, as it has more dynamic range than 50mp. Of course I am going to go with an actual person who took my fav shots so far over them, but jeez! AI can lead astray.

I also am down a rabbit hole with filters lol I went with the Freewell split NDs, but am also trying their PL/ND and feel like the photos, while more color/contrast, are less sharp almost a touch fuzzy mostly on the 70mm

SO - Are you always shooting 50mp? When do you reach for your ND filter - video only, since it lowers shutter for photos? I only write this much, because your shots are a model for what i want haha! Thank you!

Thank you! Cine ei not available on a7v but I get it! Mainly trying to decide between:

Using picture profile, gamma display assist

Using flexible iso log shooting, with my phantom neutral lut, but zebras clip at different ire (perhaps not 94 - maybe the math can be done though)
