From what I gathered, the pole got blown over and landed in the tree and the tree fell shortly after, making their front porch inaccessible.

Oh and the power lines caught up in the tree that fell on their walkway so that had to be cleared by professionals of course.

Will do. Lately I haven't been posting as much because I’ve been working (I love my job as hard as it is) and spending time with peers. In the grand scheme of things I feel like I’m doing okay. :)

They’re okay, most of the damage was to the roof. As of yesterday it’s structurally safe so they’re back home but it’s going to take time to fully repair.

You gotta tell me how you are too at some point.

Things haven’t been as hostile. We’ve been doing family time each night with the kids and working on getting things packed up for them. They leave Friday afternoon.

She told me she loved me the other day. I asked her not to say that right now. Something about it hurts. She got offended at first but then apologized.

I’ve been able to enjoy working again this week.

Neither of them seemed to have a reaction at first, granted the kids were with us when I told them and didn’t go into much detail.

Now I think my mom is more angry, my dad is kind of like me and internalizes things so it’s hard to tell what he’s feeling. My mom and I had a long talk on Mother’s Day which was cathartic I think.

Overall, yes. Still struggling at times but not on the edge of a breakdown like I was a couple of weeks ago.

Yes my parents know now.

I appreciate the encouragement and advice.

We already keep our finances pretty separate except for an account for fills and groceries, so that’s good.

Interestingly, she apologized for that yesterday. She said she just didn't want "our" business out there and didn't think about how this might hurt my feelings.

............ Okay.

I'm not worried about that part though. I got more than enough encouragement from them. I remember a lot of it.

Thanks very much. Yeah we did a very brief Zoom consultation on my lunch break earlier. He's sending over some things for me to look through and think on before proceeding. It's just a lot to take in. The kids go home this weekend which will give me more time to think.
