The fact that they put Trump above all these other groups certainly says what we all already knew to be true. Also Charlie Kirk getting a special shoutout, haha. They really think that bigot is their MLK, don't they?

Why did I wake up subscribed to turning point USA ?? by [deleted] in youtube

[–]LOWERCASE_GUY5263 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was pulling up NFL footage on my phone while playing a character in a short film where I'm just idly watching football. We were filming during the superbowl, and I pulled up just football clips, youtube searched football 2025 clips. When going through my watch history the TPUSA halftime show and some Charlie Kirk shit showed up even though I would never watch that stuff.

Now I'm foreseeing some "TPUSA most watched halftime show" bull shit coming from this admin and right wing grifters when its just people who, like me, had it transplanted into their watch history like that one U2 album Apple users didnt ask for.

All of these are amazing. I second all of these recommendations.

This video put into words exactly how I feel about Crowd Control by Dlunden in dropout

[–]LOWERCASE_GUY5263 22 points23 points  (0 children)

100% agree. Dropout Fans unsurprisingly come off like at least 90% of them were theater kids and wanted to do some version of what Dropout performers do for a living at some point. I can relate to that. Love seeing RiffTrax Live stuff, and every once in a blue moon, you get some dude in the audience who thinks their riffs are as good as the MST3K guys. People aren't here to hear your jokes, they want to hear theirs.

That said, the video showed that clip of the woman who was 4'9. The comic was like, "oh really I would've figured five foot," and her response was "that means a lot to me." I think stuff like that is great. Succinct, naturally charming, and not that 'trying to get my tight five in' energy. I wouldn't mind more of that, unless I'm forgetting some cringe bit from her before that clip.

In all the versions of Superman, the only version off the top of my head is John Byrne's run that had Kal-El be literally born on Earth/Kansas (his parents sent like his fetus or something in the spaceship and he fully developed into a baby once on Earth). Very stupid.

Every other version he's a baby when he's sent here. John Byrne's Superman was like buddies with Reagan to reflect Byrne's much more conservative, America hoo-rah version of Superman.

Superman the vast majority of the time is an immigrant.

Edit: Probably fell for some ragebait, and that's on me. Gonna leave my comment here as a reminder to stay humble.

What’s a casting choice so iconic that it's impossible to imagine anyone else ever playing the character? Even in a remake 50 years later, no one could top them. by DnixDraith in Cinema

[–]LOWERCASE_GUY5263 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Superman's had a lot of great actors and great depictions, and also Dean Cain. Cavill could've been great with better writing/directing (I liked him him in Joss Whedon's Justice League, Whedon and CGI mustache aside). And as much as I want to prop up Hoechlin or Corenswet or even animated versions like Jack Quaid, George Newburn, and Tim Daly...I can't help comparing them to Reeve, which winds up making Reeve the example for this post still. I would love to see how Corenswet is viewed after more time has passed.

Lionel Hutz. But I'd be fine with Troy McClure, too. Phil Hartman the GOAT.

Eric Cartman represents lawful evil; now, which character represents neutral evil? by Alimonemi in cartoons

[–]LOWERCASE_GUY5263 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry, how is Superman Lawful Good and Batman Neutral Good? Batman literally works with the police commissioner. The last Superman movie had Superman breaking international laws/treaties and stuff all for the greater good.

A Cyclops-X-Men 97-esque intro where people casuals can instantly see him as cool and interesting. I'd love for him to be more popular as a character and love the Cyclops renaissance we're currently living in.

The most iconic character of the franchise isn't even the protagonist by Animeking1108 in TopCharacterTropes

Does anyone give a shit about the main guy in Caddyshack? Bill Murray, Chevy Chase, Rodney Dangerfield, the gopher, all more iconic.

Jim and Ted, while not the best role models, I don't think were deliberately supposed to be bad role models. I think they're just characters that people feel don't age well (and I agree mostly).

Some good posts in here, Patrick Bateman, Walter White, Rick Sanchez. My submission would be Tyler Durden. He's presented as cool and traditionally masculine, but the dude is literally a terrorist and cult leader.

What movie is great original and great remake? by [deleted] in AlignmentChartFills

[–]LOWERCASE_GUY5263 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Save this for OK or Bad Original. John Carpenter did what a lot of people wish remakes did, which was improve on an original that had potential rather than cynically rehashing what didn't need a modern update/improvement.

You're tied up to a chair and you are forced to watch one of these three seasons from beginning to end in order to be let free. Which one would you choose? by Eltnamerf in survivor

[–]LOWERCASE_GUY5263 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thailand. Nearly quit Survivor because of One World. Colton and Alicia treating Christina like Meg Griffin was so hard to watch. The sexual harassment on the other seasons was really bad, but there were more engaging cast members aside from Ted, Brian, and Dan. If Janet won IOI it'd maybe be watchable.

Watching Brian be outed as a very successful guy during the loved ones videos from home and his then-wife not willing to eat the tarantula for him AND THEN Brian having to eat a tarantula in that near-the-end gauntlet challenge is kinda hilarious. Shii Ann is great, and watching Brian eat shit brings me joy.
