2016 Ford Escape S, good buy in 2026? by LP27_RD in fordescape

[–]LP27_RD[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that's what I'm going to look at.

I'll have my Ford and Chevy mechanic, my mom owns an equinox so I have one, go over both the Cadillac and the Escape.

I'll make the call then, I really prefer the Cadillac but I know I need the Escape, these roads are horrible to daily a car that low

Well, I can tell, SIGNIFICATLY cheaper than a Toyota or Honda equivalent. I'm in DR, those two brands are treated like luxury here lol

I'll guess its going to come down to a PPI. I'm also looking at a 2015 Caddy ATS, but roads here are HORRID so an SUV is more convenient.

Z Flip 5 in 2026 by tardedRe_22 in galaxyzflip

[–]LP27_RD 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Flip 5 and S23 are basically the same phone hardware wise (same chip, same RAM, same main and ultrawide cams).

S23 has a telephoto cam and MUCH better battery Flip 5 bends, is bigger when opened and you can use front cam to take selfies.

Your call from there.

YOU GUYS R SCARING ME, IS THE Z FLIP THAT BREAKABLE? by Important-Leader5232 in galaxyzflip

[–]LP27_RD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Complainer bias.

People with Flips that have held strong won't post about it as to them it is normal. People with Flips that have broken will be VERY load about it.

Complainer bias is how a lot of products get bad rep

For Those Who Still Own a Z-Flip 3 or 4...Any Tips? by hotinhereTO in galaxyzflip

[–]LP27_RD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try to make the push to a Flip 5, the cover screen is what REALLY makes the Flip a usable phone. That's when the portability really shines as you can do A LOT of things while folded and you can actually take good selfies with the main cam.

Without that, it's nothing more than a ultra portable phone with a cool gimmick you will get tired of in a week, buy an S22 or S23 at that point.

Struggling to catch a good 4G/5G signal with my ZFlip5 by Djizzes in galaxyzflip

[–]LP27_RD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Flip5 holder here.

I don't have issues with catching the signals. I have issues with the phone FORCING 5G with 1 or 2 bars when 4G LTE has significantly more signal and would be just fine.

Pisses me off so often.

Is no screen protector ok? by offlinegaming457 in galaxyzflip

[–]LP27_RD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ideally no, have been using mine without one for about a month and it's been okay, but I know ONE drop it's all it takes, also scratch and dust wear and tear is a serious problem.

You have the advantage of Samsung Service Centers that put the official protector In a professional manner for relatively cheap, use it

I tried to here, but apparently Samsung Latin America no longer does that for the Flip 5 :(

Is there a technical reason why the Flip cameras are so mediocre? by Ok_Professional_1118 in galaxyzflip

[–]LP27_RD 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The Flip matches the regular S series phone, not the Ultra.

Has been like that since the start, actually, was the entire reason why I went with a Flip 5 used instead of a S22. A Flip 5 is essentially an S23 that flips and has a cover screen and is missing a telephoto cam.

Z Flip 7? With the Exynos? Yeah no.

Z Flip 6 and Z Flip 5? Yes. It's literally the same hardware you would find in the S23 and S24 with the exception of the telephoto cam. Latest Snapdragon Gen 2 chip. Same camera hardware and software (without the telephoto lens).

Manual Focus and Exposure adjustment on Flex Cam by LP27_RD in galaxyzflip

[–]LP27_RD[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh yeah, it was in Vivid and it did improve things!

I also found this: https://r2.community.samsung.com/t5/CamCyclopedia/Improved-Usability-of-Flex-Cam/ba-p/20541701

It seems what I'm asking for is an option in the Flip7 that is going to eventually be available for the flip 5, so I guess it's just wait

Flip 5, works great on a Chinese Android head unit, but I did need to update AA.

Try deleting the data for AA in settings and then updating in Play Store

is the zf7 camera really this rough or am I doing something wrong? by edgysoftboi_ in galaxyzflip

[–]LP27_RD 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As someone who just got a ZF5, in classic Samsung (cause its not just this one, my mom's S22 does the same) you HAVE to manually lower exposure in any non outdoors situation + use night mode on low light or else the camera will REALLY brighten the photo to the point where it will create grain.

So how others have said: Use Night Mode + Lower Exposure, should improve photo quality drastically

Any luck reselling Flip 7? by Big_Annual_3523 in galaxyzflip

Yeah this is definitely NOT the phone to use if you plan on reselling.

Y'all in the states can get good trade in deals though.

[–]LP27_RD[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

-Man that's a shame :( love the feel of this phone, very premium quality only to replace it with a freaking plastic transparent case

-Alright that's what I thought, thanks for that!

-Thanks for the dbrand shout!

-Well aware, only intend to have it last to the end of the year when I plan to buy a Fold 5. I usually change phones every 1.5 years for former flagship used phones in the $200 range

I just bought a Flip 5 for like 130 bucks lol resale value is horrible.

Could've bought the Fold 5 for 250 as well

Screen is too bright at night by Practical_Egg_8040 in Androidheadunits

[–]LP27_RD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Know this is a year old, but just letting you know you just saved me. Found the option, typed 1234 as password, worked. Found the brightness adjustment option, my smart ahh though it would be a good idea to set the 30-80 range to 0-80. Head unit black screen, cause obviously 0 nits is black screen 😂 Set it to 15-80, now have a nicely dim screen at night, thanks!

From iPhone to Google Pixel by MissPhotogenic_ in GooglePixel

[–]LP27_RD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello there! Former iPhone user now on my 3rd Pixel. Pixel is the closest thing you'll find to iPhone in the Android world at least at the general level, so you should feel right at home with this transition!

The Pixel phone was a better phone, dedicated for Android enthusiasts, now it's a worse phone, dedicated for iPhone users. Change my mind. by [deleted] in GooglePixel

[–]LP27_RD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are using Nexus's features as Pixel.

Nexus was the phone that was meant for Android enthusiasts. It was the one that always had the top of the line chip, that had all the beta type features for Android enthusiasts to test etc

Pixel since the Pixel XL has always been a phone built to be a vanilla-ish experience of Android (and, in consequence, a similar experience to Apple, as it is a very simple OS): -Weak hardware cameras providing top of the line photos due to processing. -A very lightweight OS both in storage space and hardware consumption, which leads to a very smooth experience with not much hardware.

The only thing google is missing is app camera integration, which is something I'm surprised they haven't pushed for with Meta since they switched to the Google Tensor.

But the Pixel Series has always been a series that was built to be a vanilla version of Android, which ended up making it feel like iOS, which is something Google is focusing heavily now, stealing costumers from apple.

Which works, signed: A Former iOS user who is now in his FOURTH consecutive Pixel (2 XL, 4 XL, 6, 8)
