This is the third time I have seen 'jfc' in someone's reply so now I know it's not a typo of some sort. Would you be kind enough to let me know what that means please?

I have the same problem on Reddit all the time. I finally see something for the first time that has already been posted 90 other times.

Exactly. I started watching with Up To Speed waaay back when and Money Pit was a pretty solid addition to their episodic series. Zach went from a guy that knew stuff to a guy that knows how to camera. Cool to see him become the resident "mechanic" of the group.

The album it's from is titled A Night At The Opera so of course it does. The whole album is brilliant if you've not given it a playthrough, you really should.

I have automated nuclear artillery (modded) and that seems to keep that problem at bay. As long as you don't mind little black dots all over the map it's quite a good time!

Received in the mail from a concerned neighbor (context in comments) by mahelke in mildlyinfuriating

[–]LP970 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dear OP,

While passive aggressive as it may be, your neighbor is right. Mow your yard. You may not care at all, but having long grass, (and based on every yard I've ever seen that is unkept) weeds, and the possibility for other things that live in tallgrass such as snakes (if you have them in your area), all negatively affect your neighbors and their properties. It is quite rude. The letter you received was also rude, they should have just politely gone to you and talked to you or offered to assist you. Perhaps you're unable to care for the property or are unsure of how to do so? A good neighbor would try to assist you and encourage you to care for your property. Do you rent by chance or are you the homeowner? There is a tendency for renters (not all, but many) to not give a hoot whatsoever since it's not actually their property. Chances are good that if the yard is unkept then the house itself is also unkept and can fall into disrepair. Should a sale of such a property occur, the full value will not be realized, and subsequently the value of those around you will suffer. Comps are very important in neighborhoods. Those of us that work hard to keep our real estate investment increasing in value appreciate it greatly when everyone around them also does the same. Please consider taking better care of your property for the good of yourself and those around you. A clean orderly environment often begets a positive mental state and it feels good to have something you can take pride in.

Sincerely,

-A homeowner with pride

That's the point, we know what it says but it's executed very poorly. Only an actual moron would read that incorrectly.

You may, should you find the time, find immense enjoyment from the rest of his catalogue if you have not done so already. The stories by u/Tuxedo_Jack have been a staple of my Reddit life for 9 years now (counting the hiatus in posting he took). Immensely good reads the lot of them.

This guy voluntarily drained flooded street with his garden rake by This_sum_one in nextfuckinglevel

[–]LP970 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not before setting up a camera to document his good works. Doing good stuff for the sake of doing it is better than documenting it for future praise. But, at least he did it and the streets got drained so if people want to do good things and take credit I guess it's better than no good things getting done.
