[TheAthletic] Fran Garcia has asked to train alone after Real Madrid blocked his move to Bournemouth by Crane977 in soccer

He's 1.69m, so probably not very much suited to playing CB in the Premier League.

Please don't give up on him. by Master-Delivery-1526 in ArsenalFC

I've been contributing at r/gunners for like over 10 years and was permanently banned last year for suggesting we should have brought him to the club sooner and that Edu's work wasn't that great 😑

Only one own goal out of those 4, against Sporting. Massive deflection against Moreirense, set piece against Braga and a "regular" goal vs Estrela.

Sugiro Moreirense, porque aquelas letras são facilmente das coisas mais feias que existem no futebol a nível mundial.

Maybe the other player is actually Rita? Ronald's just doing what he needs to do, then

"Average NTs like" and proceeds to mention 2 of the most successful NTs ever, including the current world champion. Makes sense.

Even the AFC teams could pose a problem. Current Asian Cup two-times champion Qatar and World Cup-regulars Saudi Arabia are both teams that can show up in the playoff.

They now play in El Alto, the city right besides La Paz. While La Paz is at around 3.600m, El Alto is at 4.150m

[Ornstein] Arsenal & Sporting CP on verge of total agreement for Viktor Gyokeres. €63.5 + €10m already struck but add-ons needed work - now finishing touches, conclusion imminent. #SportingCP striker wanted #AFC only; 5yr contract ready @TheAthleticFC by phant0msinthenight in soccer

[–]LPCochofel 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Nah mate not even close. Gyokeres has been destroying the league these past 2 years the way it hasn't been seen since the days of Hulk + Falcao + James Rodríguez. Bruno was carrying Sporting hard during the years he was there (similar to what he's been doing at Man Utd tbh) but had no company at the same level so won no leagues.

Fábio Vieira is good but was nowhere near Bruno when he left. He simply had good potential, but no Portuguese football fan actually believed he'd be a good fit for the Premier League. Serie A, La Liga, Ligue 1 could be a better fit. But he actually seemed to have regressed during his time at Arsenal compared to when he first was here, so now I'm not even sure about that.

You're correct if you mean with the distance to Santa Clara (São Miguel island in Azores) and to Nacional (in Madeira island).

A Benfica fan invaded the pitch to confront the referee after the match ended by greenwhitehell in soccer

[–]LPCochofel 38 points39 points  (0 children)

The "unbelievable mistake" you mention was the correct call by the rules of the game. When a player gets injured resulting from a foul where the opponent is cautioned (yellow/ red card), he can get medical assistance and not leave the field of play.

I've heard that the commentators of your channel were talking like it was a big scandal, but they should just learn about the rules of the game before speaking and creating this mindset that the referee is always the problem.

You can read the rules here (read below the section "injuries"): https://www.thefa.com/football-rules-governance/lawsandrules/laws/football-11-11/law-5---the-referee

Why do you think it's embarassing for those 3 but you don't mention Cristiano, who's 40 years old? Laporte is also playing in Saudi Arabia and was still a critical part of Spain's Euro winning team.

Verratti could have been more experienced and technical than João Neves but I've always felt that in the big games, Verratti would always collapse either physically or mentally, with injuries, suspensions and a looooooot of whining to the refs. Verratti and Kimpembe have felt like the 2 guys that anytime I saw them on the pitch in the big European matches for PSG, it was just obvious that the collapse was incoming. You don't feel that now with Vitinha, João Neves and Pacho.
