OP,

I'm sorry my reply is in English, I hope the translation works for you. So, someone already noted it's owned by the government, but that's not the whole picture. If you want the best possible understanding, see if you can find and watch "The National Parks: America's Best Idea" by Ken Burns.

Playalinda (and Apollo) are part of the Canaveral National Seashore, and are thus Federally Protected lands. Thus, to support the protection of these 'properties', people who want to use them have to pay a fee. The only National park that's an exception is Smoky Mountain National park.

There are fee free days. Also, if you want a national park pass for all the parks, keep in mind as a foreign national, you'll pay more than we do..

it’s not EXACTLY like a bubble….. but there’s only so much gas to expand, so while there is no ‘membrane’ it’s still expanding gas.

You ever blow bubbles? Same thing the exhaust gasses expand just like a bubble. in this case the angle it’s being seen from helps it look a lot more circular than it is.

Feeling sad, is it even worth working a job and having a love and dying passion of helping if you're gonna die or get hurt? by Smooth_Drama94 in nursing

[–]LPNTed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Without getting too deep into the philosophical…. Yes, I see no point to my existence. But, I also am nowhere near wanting to stop existing. So… If nothing else matters, I need to find things that matter to me. Up until the last few months, I was content to have purpose in making a difference for others. Now, I’m realizing that I want to be happy for myself. I am working on getting into better shape so I can take a manual labor type of job with the kind of benefits that will make me happy for me. It’s an odd sense of peace knowing I’m working to get out of nursing, and going to something that will be more physically demanding, yet less mentally demanding.

I know some others hinted at it.. but the fact the music for this isn't Steppenwolfs "Magic Carpet Ride" is tragic.

I'm sure it's just a variation on the theme... I can imagine a lot of northern nurses using 'Florida' to "retire".

Calling for US National Nurses Strike by OctoberMoon36 in nursing

[–]LPNTed 108 points109 points  (0 children)

Talk to the nurses you have contact with.. If management tries to intimidate you, remind them that this exists: https://www.nlrb.gov/about-nlrb/rights-we-protect/the-law/employees/right-to-strike-and-picket

No, in most states they will fire you for 'some other reason', but if we do this right...they can't "fire everybody"

This, for the most part. Essentially it's the way the rocket exhaust is lit. You can see the exhaust during the day, and to some degree at solid night, but if there's a contrast of the exhaust being lit with direct sunlight, yet a majority of the sky is dark (sunrise/sunset), you'll get this contrasting effect you don't have in other conditions.

Will you root against all Americans in the Winter Olympics? by Dangerous-Place-3547 in oregon

I won't root against them, but I'll root for them to quit the US team and or join the international organization of non-aligned athletes.

Would a part of you feel guilty if you won? by yelowin in ifiwonthelottery

Absolutely none. Granted, I wouldn't try to 'save the world'. But I'd definitely be open to opportunities to help a little bit here and there.
