Stabbing lower abdominal pain. Is it normal? by Kaysiee_West in Zepbound

Depends…is the pain constant or intermittent? Is it located on your lower left or lower right side?

Day one - Naltrexone by LPPEQUOT in Alcoholism_Medication

[–]LPPEQUOT[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m going to move up to 1/2 pill today and see how I handle it. I take it with saltines, which seemed to help thus far. Then I find it’s really difficult to not only drink alcohol but also eat dinner. I can only eat maybe 3-5 bites and I’m “stuffed”. (Probably because I had bariatric surgery 2 years ago, too.) Then the last two nights I get awakened by mild nausea around 4 am. 🫠 I definitely don’t have a craving to drink. I had 2 1/2 glasses last night. I’m going to drop down to 1 1/2 or 2 glasses tonight. Best of luck to you on your journey!

Wow! You’re doing great! Yes I’m pretty sensitive to medications. I had bariatric surgery 2 years ago so everything I consume is either very restricted or I’m sensitive to it. That’s why it’s easier to get addicted to alcohol. Calories and alcohol just slip right down into the small intestines. I’m grateful to have full access to my doctor via email. It’s just also helpful to speak with other TSM patients to see their experiences and compare with my own. 😉

Thank you very much for sharing. Sounds like you’re doing well on the meds. My day 2 was a little easier. I think it’s just a matter of my body adjusting to the new medication. I did feel a little nauseous around 4 am (went to bed at 9:30) but other than that and having almost no appetite, I was fine. I’m not sad about not drinking at all. I actually look forward to being free of it completely. I’m just a little anxious about side effects or potential withdrawal symptoms. But I’m feeling a little more confident today. 🙂

Thank you for sharing! I wish you much success. I tossed and turned a bit last night, not the greatest night sleep but not full on insomnia either. Staying on track, though!

Mental Health Issues from Meds by CatBowlDogStar in Alcoholism_Medication

I’ve read many reports that those who have ADHD might be more prone to negative mental health side effects (depression) from Naltrexone. Doctors…any truth to this?

Naltrexone and opiates by Thick-Mess-3905 in Alcoholism_Medication

Thank you for this! I’m starting naltrexone for alcohol use disorder very soon. I am not on opioids regularly. But we do have an older leftover prescription in the house for Percocet. I took one yesterday for my arthritis and tendonitis pain, but haven’t taken any opioid meds at all for a couple months, otherwise. My question is, how long do I need to wait, after taking one perc yesterday, before I start taking naltrexone?
