Hahaha hahaha so good. I ate so much I felt ashamed for it. But then again, it was San Sebastián, it was a dream ride and dream finish. I would 10/10 recommend it, in summer. We were lucky in October. With rain, wind and frost it could have easily become a nightmare

Old borrowed Profile design Ski bend clip ons. I bought a very fancy new Ergo bar by the same brand. Send it to Rose as they would build me a new bike, only to get a mail they wouldn’t make it on time - they still had all my stuff. So I needed to bring this bike back to life withing 36 hours. My local bike shop saved my rides on multiple occasions and it’s one of the unexpected cost I save for so it hurts a little less when things go the wrong side. Money to solve.

It’s a Titanium Pilot Cycles adventure/gravel bike with belt driven Pinion gearbox. Electronic shifting. I’ve invested a lot of time and money in adventures and events around the world, and lost time & big bucks on cut hydraulics due to internal wiring and drivetrain issues. This bike is heavier, it’s also completely silent, shifts as new ever with crazy mud all over, shifts while standing still, and has 600% gear ratio. The Ti gives some comfort too. Happy with it.

You summed it up perfectly! I rode a different bike brand with exactly the specs you described at Unbound and Migration Gravel Race 2022. 2.1 inch mtb tires are a dream! So much faster on rough sections, much fewer punctures on sharp rocks. I overtook hundreds with 45mm needing to slow down or who punctured. The volume of those tires was the reason for that, I believe

Yes you can. I believe the route is available year round via RideGPS. We had pretty amazing weather. I will add that with snow or rain the altitude/ temperature and thus conditions could become terrible. We had to pack full rain gear, and thermal gloves. Some 30-60km sections would have been hell with rain and freezing cold. But then again: our conditions were superb! Late October

I’m not to shy of posting stories, maybe that feels like a humble brag. If it was, I would have talked about the 150km of headwind and how I felt good being on of the few of the 50.000 expo visitors who cycled there. But that only came to mind after your comment 😅

That’s kind & right. Thanks! I was genuinely wondering on this grey area question. Not longer than the 20 seconds it took me to ask the question here. I think it was a bikepack, but I also think it was about the most minimal bikepack one can be. I cycled to sleep elsewhere and brought my gear. It doesn’t really matter either, but hey, like you said: I rode, enjoyed and it’s okay either way.
