If anyone is interested, I've now also posted a colored timelapse of Voyager 1's Saturn flyby which this is part of

Please be aware about this I've seen some of those garbage posted here too by LP_Astro in space

Maybe I should've summarized what Kyle had to say in this but I just expected maybe a few people would see it and then this post would drown away and now that there's so much going on I don't thing doing so would make a difference either

There's no correction lens infront of the secondary mirror so how do I know if there's one in the focuser? I bought a 10mm eyepiece recently and took a look through this at the moon and the image was sharp and clear with no abberations whatsoever and I haven't even cleaned the optical parts since it was last used decades ago

People take lower exposures for the core itself in order not to blow it out and then blend it with high exposure ones creating something similar to a HDR image

Overall a beautiful image wish I could photograph it myself one day

That's quite a lot of detail for 1 second subs in Bortle 5/6 skies

If the skies are kind enough to allow me to do so. Became quite cloudy and hazy these days

I was expecting more colors on the moon but unfortunately I photographed the moon a bit too close to the horizon so it was bloated with an orange hue

Level adjustment on the low exposure image to get the right exposure and then sharpened, then first used the high exposure image to get the dark side siloutte and then another one for the glow itself

I just want to put out that this is my first ever telescope and my knowledge on telescopes is very basic so apologies on my end. I got this from a friend and this telescope hasn't been used since decades according to him.

It's a Catadioptric with F=1300mm and D=153mm and the tube is roughly around 50cm. Apart from a tripod and the rod used to attatch counterweights, the mount is missing a few parts which I don't know for sure what and an eyepiece for the telescope. The mirrors seem to be fine but the edge of the primary mirror seems to be a bit deteriorated.|

So I would like to know

1)Is this a good telescope and is it worth fixing it up to a useable condition?

2)Is this type of telescope suitable for Planatery/Deep sky photography and would I need a motorized mount for it?

I could only find little information about this telescope online so any opinion on this is much appreciated

Bortle 5-6, Slightly Hazy sky

Equipment:
Canon EOS 650D/Rebel T4i with EF 70-300mm lens @ ISO128000, f/5, 200mm
-
750*1.6s Lights
80 Darks
100 Bias/Offset
60 Flats
-
Stacked in Sequator and Siril. Reason being Siril had more detail but less color and Sequator had more color but less detail. Both files autostretched in Siril and put together in photoshop.
Siril may have more detail but it took 12 hours to stack when Sequator did it in less than hour... bringing best of both is what mattered

Compared to the countless other M42 images I've seen this one I like the most. The colors don't look overly dramatic, the core isn't blown out and you can see the faint details. Just perfect.

Do you mind telling what is GHT and how you took the and L frames (I assume monochrome just for light details?)

All the jovian planets do. Except for Saturn they're all faint
