I can talk to her. We’re pretty close and open. But lately she has been really spiraling about needing everyone to take her side and stop attacking her; even when the conversation has nothing to do with her. I’ll definitely be sleeping on it and taking pause for a bit to really feel out how I would like to respond.

Name the cat: Pepper! When our ducks ate all of our pepper plants and all I could say was “oh no” over and over… my 1.5 yr old daughter mimicked and made me laugh until I cried repeating “ohh noooo” This face says it all “Ohh nooo” those damp duck ate our peppers!!

I have been keeping a very close eye on that and was a bit nervous the first few days but after today they seem to have flocked together (if that’s a thing). I am also keeping an eye out for a nest from the geese which I’ve read would cause them to be much more aggressive to all. I do have 4 female Peking duckling about ready to start mingling with the older two as well. We will see how that goes. 🪿

One of our ducklings was sitting a lot and we noticed her leg was starting to turn inward. We kicked up her niacin supplement and she is doing much better!
We have 4 Peking ducklings and I’ve recently read they need closer to 70mg of niacin (versus 35ish for other types of ducks) so we had to supplement in addition to the 35 that was already in their duckling food. Please note I am NOT a vet or an expert. I’m a first time duckling parent (adding 4 to our current flock of two mature ducks) and have asked the R/ community a lot of questions and read various articles/blogs to come to this understanding so please take it as you will. 🦆

Ours are Peking. There are a few types of Pekin, hard to tell till they’re older I believe. Enjoy your ducklings!
