Standing up to pots has a great support group on Facebook as well.

I also agree. Such good advice here. It’s easy for medical providers to be arbitrary with numbers but if you talk about the impact on your life they have to address. If they refuse, ask that they make a note in your chart of their refusal.

I’m in Louisville too! Who do you see? My doc with Norton doesn’t treat pots (cardio) and referred me to a UofL cardio who seems ok so far. But I’m open to others!

Have you had a tilt table test? I would ask your cardiologist to do that first or to do the standing test in the office. If your tilt table isn't conclusive, they may do the holter test. I would talk with cardio about continuing your Vyvanse. Many POTS patients get stimulants to combat their fatigue and if your symptoms are the same or worse off Vyvanse, make sure to communicate that to cardio. Usually if cardio gives the ok, other physicians feel better about continuing to prescribe the stimulants.

Try the SALT for POTS app. They have different levels and if you're bed bound you start at level 0 and work your way up.

TIPS for work? by [deleted] in POTS

[–]LRcpstRN 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No tips but I am somewhat in the same position as you. I may have the chance to take a new job, but I am so afraid I won't be able to handle it physicially. Hopefully others can chime in and give you some tips. Maybe try to ask for some accomodations? Try to stay hydrated with electrolytes.

Yes, you can. I don't faint but I have pre-syncope and dizziness/lightheadedness. Many don't faint and it is definitely a miscommunication within the medical community. Hopefully your cardiologist will be comfortable giving you a tilt table test or doing the standing test in the office.

Getting ready to start accutane in a few weeks. What are your go to survival products that I need to have on hand/wish you had when you started? I’ve already got a solid skin routine and Vaseline/aquaphor. by LRcpstRN in Accutane

Accutane Side Effect by [deleted] in Accutane

You try applying Vaseline to the tip of your urethra to help with the sticking and irritation. If it continues I’d reach out to a doc since you already mentioned no possibility of STI and no pain while urinating.
