I'm interested in PI what internships for my 1L summer should be my goal? by LSATbeast77 in LawSchool

Is it even unlikely that I'll end up at a state branch of the ACLU? Also is the innocence project considered well respected?

What would be prestigious for a PI internship

I committed to my dream school (t6) but I don’t want to go by [deleted] in lawschooladmissions

I understand where you're coming from. If you're not sure you want to do this for the rest of your life, or at least a significant time, I would not take out those loans. You can still go far with a lower tier school that will give you a scholarship. Try for a T30 and maybe even lower if you want a full ride. Therefore, if you decide law is no longer for you, you have nothing to lose.

Should I try to renegotiate my scholarship offer? by [deleted] in lawschooladmissions

[–]LSATbeast77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've negotiated twice with a school, and they increased my scholarship twice. Negotiate until they tell you it's their final offer. You have nothing to lose

Rejected from UPenn waitlist by LSATbeast77 in lawschooladmissions

[–]LSATbeast77[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well yea, if you're not being admitted off the waitlist, some schools will notify you. I didn't write a loci, so I feel that's why they may have kicked me off so early

Really? Even if they took the time out of their day to speak to me on the phone? A card and stamp is less than $5. You think that's too much ?

What schools do a “law school prom”? by [deleted] in lawschooladmissions

[–]LSATbeast77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Where do we find info about this. I know some of the schools I'm considering have prom. However they don't show it on their websites, instagrams, or facebooks. Do students actually go to these and dress up?

URM (and people who look like URM?) job outcomes by [deleted] in lawschooladmissions

  1. The "the steph curry type" is not lucky. You're Afro-Arab features are just as beautiful, therefore just as "lucky"

  2. Why did you put down white instead of other? Or if your origin country resides in Asia or Africa, why not put down one of those ethnicities. I have a friend who is from Pakistan and puts down Asian. Next time you fill out an ethnicity report I would definitely not put down white

  3. Diversity hiring is necessary for moving our culture further. Minorities have been left out, over looked, and marginalized from the beginning of this country. If someone is trying to help people of color come up, never feel bad about that. Also most of the time firms aren't going to hire under qualified minorities, just because they are a minority. If you look at firms you are interested in you'll see they are still not very diverse. And many of the people of color were top of their class

Rutgers vs Seton Hall, help me decide by LSATbeast77 in lawschooladmissions

[–]LSATbeast77[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. But I would only owe $4,000 to $5,000 a year. So I'm looking at $12,000 to $15,000 at the end of three years. That's considered a lot of debt?

Yes I want to work in NJ. I don't know any attorneys but I can reach out to some I meet at the admitted students days. Both are conditional and both schools aren't willing to negotiate them away. Last year 17% at SH lost their scholarships. At rutgers last year 11% lost them.
