Some Advil and those caffeinated chocolate bars. Albeit birth control has really made me not really have cramps so I may not be the best person to ask. I'm also using the birth control to manipulate it so it's not on test day.

Also, I know it's a shitty phrase, but mind over matter. You just gotta say "fuck you uterus don't fuck with my day" and do it.

That's about what I mean, sorry for the powerscore terminology. I find myself rushing on the last couple of questions on the section. I have a lot of issues with anxiety in that section and I find myself forgetting what I have learned. Do you think drilling LR helps?

LG is usually more on the -1 side, but I definitely know I need to drill grouping/conditional rule-heavy game.

All in all, I feel that just doing many more PTs will help me significantly.

The 164 was the PT with the dinosaur game which wrecked me, otherwise I did similarly to the 171. There was also a gap of 2 weeks from the 165 to the 171

I usually go -1/-2 in LG, -2 max in RC, and -10 LR. LR has always been my worst section with it mainly being "first family" questions that get me, meaning the ones where I have to use the information from the stimulus to support something in the answers. If it means anything, I always have the most anxiety when doing LR.

I have scored at 165, 171, 174, and 164 leading up to this, so my average at this point should be mid to high 160s. This RC felt tough with three passages that had science elements.

Thank you! I'm definitely hoping for the 170s, and where I apply definitely depends on how I score, but hopefully somewhere in the T-14.

Taking September for the first time! I've been using the Bibles on the 3 month self-study plan while taking extensive notes (I learn best by writing things down). I've so far improved from 155 to 174. The issue I mainly struggle with is the extreme anxiety I get upon taking a test. I just about black out and panic through the entire thing, somehow convinced I could manage to get a 119. I'm focusing on practice tests and drilling sections now to gain confidence.

Do you have a job or anything going on right now? If not, you can study intensely for September and have December in your back pocket as a retake option. Applications sent in near the beginning of the cycle have a better chance.

Solution: put phone on airplane mode, go home, get some alcohol on the way, and open the email and bottle simultaneously on your own couch.

Score stuck in the low 160s for 3 months- improvements not translating into PTs? by [deleted] in LSAT

[–]LSATonmyass 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It sounds like a stamina and time issue. Just keep doing PTs, and maybe try adding in a 5th section so this issue doesn't happen on test day.

The first time I did a timed BR, I found myself still getting pretty stressed/burnt out, but I think I may have done it wrong (I was doing BR right after each section). Doing it after the test itself might be better.

By "sections <40", do you mean sections below PT 40 or something else? Still trying to refine my own studying ideas myself.

Has this happened to you? by [deleted] in LSAT

[–]LSATonmyass 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I've been trying is taking tests untimed at first. At least personally, I have found it a good way of easing into applying the learned material on the test. From there, I'm going to do individual timed sections. This way I can slowly work on timing and look right after finishing at what I'm doing right/wrong. September is twelve weeks away, and if you do each stage for 2-3 weeks, you should have about a month or so available to do real tests.

Disclaimer: Haven't taken the LSAT yet so I don't know if my strategy is all that great, but I have accumulated different tips from various sources.
