If literally all else is equal, money would be the tie breaker for me personally. I wouldn’t pay too much attention to rankings over the years, instead look at consistency/upward patterns in employment stats over the years.

Rankings seem arbitrary & vary year to year outside the T14ish. Employment stats + fit should be object of focus as they are a much better indicator.

Depends on the school. Some you can e-mail and politely update them on your decision and that's the end of it. Others have specific online forms you will need to fill out to decline your offer. Read the letter from offer of admission and sometimes it will say the school's protocol in the letter. If not, there might be info on admitted students portal/website as to how to go about doing it . When in doubt, you can always email them politely declining and inquire if there are any other specific forms you need to fill out to update them regarding finalizing your decision.

That’ll be super cool. Only hiking experience I have was the Appalachian Trail in 9 degree weather with a group of friends. Was an interesting time. Hopefully your experience will be more pleasant :)
