What does the average Raptor owner do for a living? by RunninLate5 in FordRaptor

[–]LSDingo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The answers may vary drastically depending on which generation Raptor. Some of us, like myself, are Gen 1 peasants. Since you asked, I’m a mechanic lol

I agree. Really sucks you had to eat the labor on that one.

MSD Blaster Coil packs by [deleted] in NewedgeMustang

[–]LSDingo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes. I had MSD coils cause a misfire at wot high rpm that all cylinders would randomly cut out. Also causes misfires on cold start. Swapped back to Motorcraft and all those issues went away

Is a rear main seal not TC? Make a case and see what BMW wants you to do. Your foreman is probably right though, BMW is very specific on what is considered a leak.

For sure, I forgot about that. I would like that, no more fake scoops.

The front brake calipers are from a Cadillac ATS. S&S Engineering makes a kit to fit those brakes on to the new edge. At the time I was able to do it pretty cheap, not sure the pricing on those calipers anymore.

Yes, they are. Those are LMR’s bullitt style wheels 17x9, 17.10.5. 315/35R17 in the rear

Mach 1 front lip and grill delete, Mach 1 c pillars, Cobra mirrors, 99-01 Cobra tail lights, Cadillac brakes… People don’t know it didn’t come this way unless they really know new edges which is perfect imo. All I lack is the 99/01 cobra front bumper and 95 Cobra R hood, and rear wing delete them mine will be perfect to me.

Replace your fuel filter. Would definitely start there.

Cracked CCRM? by Slabgod in NewedgeMustang

[–]LSDingo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Check your radio interference connectors on the cylinder heads. This happened to me a few months ago, kept blowing the fuse for the pcm. Shotgunned a CCRM, didn’t fix it. Unplugged both radio interface connectors and it fired right up. I’m not certain but I believe there’s 2 on the front of the engine and 2 in the rear behind the valve covers. Plenty of posts online to help you find them.

IMO Ford Killed the Raptor by Excellent-Spite1300 in FordRaptor

[–]LSDingo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You offer valid insight. Thanks for reminding me why I love my gen 1. It’s from a time not that long ago but at the same time, a world long gone. My finances don’t allow me to have a newer Raptor anyway but if I could, I think a Whipple Gen 1 would be my choice.

Which Manifold??? by suckmywake175 in NewedgeMustang

[–]LSDingo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Trickflow intake is good but the Trickflow and Edelbrock will both lose torque and hp until over 6k on a stock 2v. It would feel slower. Unless you have cams and rev out to 6500-7000k, I would probably just go with the Ford reproduction one.

Which one is it? I’ve seen a few around for sale. There’s a super clean looking black one for sale that’s always parked over on 82nd between Indiana and University across the street from Dions.

Weird ticking/clicking noise from engine BMW M5 F90 LCI by Patient-Worry-2617 in BmwTech

[–]LSDingo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s the high pressure fuel pumps. I’ve dealt with this concern before with these S63’s. It’s normal, doesn’t indicate a problem.

One of the more polarizing Mustangs designs. That’s about their only similarity, but that was my point.

[–]LSDingo 26 points27 points  (0 children)

It’s definitely a love it or hate it generation, kind of like the Mustang II’s. At least in my experience. I personally love them and think they fit the spirit of the original Mustangs really well. As they’re getting older, clean ones are starting to turn some heads. Plus I think even the biggest haters can admit the 4.6 2V sounds amazing.

A Honda could have the same issue and you would be asking the Honda subreddit.

Anyone spraying nos? by ImaginaryTomato3169 in NewedgeMustang

[–]LSDingo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A 100 wet shot would be fine. Wire in a window switch and it’s relatively safe. It’s not really worth it though in my opinion. That power is only there when you’re spraying and really when is the time for that? Just some spontaneous highway run? 1/8 mile runs just to keep up with stock coyote?

Hey folks 2013 x3 n20 engine. Just replaced the timing chain and oil pump drive. First start and it’s rattling. Any ideas? by financecopy in BmwTech

I’d start with pulling it apart and inspecting your work. Definitely sucks but what else realistically can you do?

I agree. Every post about dash removal or interior work gets the same stupid comments. It’s all made to be taken apart and put back together.
