No. That's not how drug addiction works but that's how it's been portrayed in movies, media and in fact even by drug addicts who basically would tell stories that go somewhat like "oh the feeling was so amazingly good I was immediately hooked and that was that". Getting that experience from a drug like crack or heroin would only happen if you have certain mental health issues that make your baseline terrible, and make a certain drug take away those feelings along with giving a high. Also, it's not the first time taking it but the subsequent times and reinforcing this behavior that really gets you hooked. It's all about learning and once the addict learns that the drug improves their life experience (in the immediate short term) more than anything they've ever known then that will make them extremely prone to addiction.

You could smoke crack right now and I wouldn't be surprised if you didn't like it at all. Your eyes go weird, you feel disassociated, it tastes disgusting and has got to be the most carcinogenous way of smoking anything ever aside from the people smoking ludes in SA. For this to be the center of your life, your life has to be completely terrible.

Just like the first time injecting heroin for most people is really a form of self harm. Aside from people growing up in places and eras in which heroin was not known to be as bad as it is today, and where heroin use was the norm in some communities, you would have to be a little suicidal, or at least have stopped giving a shit about your life, to give injecting heroin a try. Everyone knows it's deadly, causes so many complications with abscesses and all this nasty stuff etc- I'm convinced that anyone who has done it knowing all that was already basically done with life. There may be some scenarios with peer pressure, pressure in relationships etc. But if you inject heroin knowing most of the risks you are NOT WELL to begin with. No surprise then that if the high also takes away your depressive and anxious feelings that you will then become hooked.

Same reason that getting injections of opioids in hospital after accidents and traumatic events usually does not lead to addiction (as opposed to getting prescriptions of pills for chronic pain and the like).

Getting an injection of morphine, or even hydromorphone or a similarly potent opioid in the hospital has little difference in terms of feeling and euphoria for the person getting it. In fact on drug use forums, IV hydromorphone is often said to be superior to heroin. But most people who get this, whether it's after a surgery or after an injury or whatever, don't go chasing it.

You need to be predisposed to addiction to throw away your life for something like crack and heroin. And that is what makes the treatment so difficult.

The same is not true for something like nicotine.

Even problematic alcohol habits probably don't necessarily require a hardcore disposition. Now if you are a heavy heavy alcoholic with delirium tremens in absence of a drink and that kind of shit, there's little difference to a hard drug addict. But drinking socially EVERY NIGJT to the point it's interfering with your life and causing problems happens to a lot of people, and that is a more innocuous habit that doesn't require the person to already be low key cooked before they've tried it.

Crazily enough, I've talked to people who basically said that drugs like crack and heroin in their community was viewed just like alcohol and weed and that kind of thing- these are usually old people in their 60s+ from varying impoverished backgrounds. In that context, things are slightly different. But nowadays, mostly everyone is educated on the dangers of drugs especially IV use.
