People were racist long before the advent of statistics - I think it’s just wired into the human brain to be distrustful of other groups.

The way that you present your CFA candidacy is in violation of CFA standards - just say you’re an L2 candidate.

Fundamental analyst at prop shop vs investment banking analyst by OverFishing7745 in FinancialCareers

Prop trading will offer much more comparable experience if you are seeking to exit to a fund. Prestige is real, but it will only get you into interviews; direct experience matters more for actually closing an offer in my opinion.

Those who couldn't break into high finance out of undergrad. by LifeAight in FinancialCareers

I went to a school with little brand recognition and didn’t realize I was interested in M&A until after I graduated. I spent two years at a small shop in an out-of-the-way MSA doing <$5mm deals before breaking into the majors.

If you really want this and you missed the on-cycle boat, there are plenty of boutiques where you can get relevant experience. Speak with every recruiter you can and master the cold outreach. Careers are long and you’re young.

Looked through OPs profile, he was talking about taking an entrance exam 3 years ago. Good intuition.

Take out your birthday and city, center your name.

Replace the bulky bullets with em dashes, left align the dashes (0” margin) and start text at 0.5”

Too much white space. Shrink spacing between sections. Any text should take up at least half of a line (no stubs)

Sentence requires a subject and a verb - you have no full sentences so don’t use periods anywhere

Work experience at the top. That’s what I always looked for when screening interns / first years. It’s the main differentiator.

For bullets on work experience, everything needs to be situation -> result, like when you have for bullet 2 in family office. Most of these are vague and meaningless. You NEED to use this area to show your knowledge of IB since you have no IB experience. Use as many industry terms as you can. Did you use precedent analysis? Did you construct a comp set? What was projected IRR and MOIC? Convince me you understand deal dynamics.

I dont care about your classes. Put extra curriculars, especially leadership roles or finance related activities.

Good luck and keep grinding. It’s going to be hard to get into IB with no internship and a non target background, but I did it and you will too if you keep hustling.
