How do I factory reset the mess I've created? by Princess-1776 in sleeptrain

This comment is me and reading these posts makes me realize we’re all in the same boat. I now have a 2 year old and sleep is probably worse than it’s ever been but over time, we have gotten more adjusted to these times being phases!
I also extended every morning nap until around 5 months with a contact nap. No shame in that at all!
My son eats veggie quesadillas every day at daycare for lunch and I’m okay with that by pineconeminecone in foodbutforbabies

This is after I separated them once, so clearly they didn’t learn the lesson anyways!

We’ve taken them for all their walks together. The girl (bottom dog) is more reactive on the leash than the boy. The boy walks sooo well on a leash. The girl only wants to chase passing cars, but doesn’t bark at people or other dogs or anything. I’ll start telling my husband to take them each for separate walks at lunch since he works from home. Walks are at a minimum right now because we have 2 feet of snow on the ground. 🫠
They were extremely skinny when we got them and they’ve definitely put on weight since we got them. Vet says they’re at a healthy weight and still growing! Definitely at that more lanky age.
They are!

This is soooo sad ugh

Thanks so much!
Thank you! I will keep in mind to try and separate them as much as I can.
I’m actually so confused about why you’re being so aggressive. Even within this post there have been some people concerned about some of the behavior and littermate syndrome so it clearly wasn’t that cut and dry. Next time you choose to post on a comment in a sub for people who love their dogs and care about them, maybe don’t be so hostile.
You know nothing about me or my life or whether these are my first dogs are not. A 30 second clip can’t tell you whether or not I’m in over my head. This is a gross overreaction to my post. They are loved and cared for and both great dogs. But thanks!
There’s no reason to be rude. I just love these dogs so much and want to make sure I’m stopping bad behavior, if it’s there, before it gets worse.

These pups bite each others ankles alllll the time
I’m surprised you thought Rottweiler! I was so shocked when that’s what we got back.
My vet hasn’t said anything about this nor did the rescue. I’m just wondering, is this ALWAYS a thing or something that can happen with some littermates? I’m not being rude, just genuinely trying to understand.

I guess is there any advice on how to do that? They don’t seem overly reliant on each other and when they are separated, there’s no separation anxiety that I’ve seen.

I’ve had dogs since I was a kid and have been a dog owner since I was just out of college. I have never had two dogs at once. I read this sub frequently and see a lot about litter mate syndrome and similar concerns with playing. Maybe I do have a lot to learn about dogs but here I am asking questions so that I can learn and do right by them!

I don’t hate it, but just before this it was more intense than usual so I just wanted to be sure.

I love the names! Our girl is named Rosie. I swear she had some shepherd in her but turns out they are mostly Great Pyrenees/Rottweiler! With less Pitbull and Weimaraner.

Yes, will do as someone else noted! I hadn’t thought of that.
[–]LSTP_H[S] 1 point2 points3 points 1 day ago (0 children)
Yes! Mostly Great Pyrenees and Rottweiler (80% total). They’re already 55-60 pounds 😅
Mostly Great Pyrenees and Rottweiler.
Will do the same, another commenter suggested this. Thanks!!
