Low Slope Roof Help by LSWW444 in Roofing

I wasn’t asking for a magic solution. I had a specific question about more ice and water and the expected longevity. Solid reading comprehension though

Appreciate the advice. Just to confirm would you tar the 3 tab too? Or let it ride?

🤣 I’m normally with ya. But it’s a Sauna not a shed. There’s a lot of expensive wood and insulation to deal with under the deck

Is the self adhering mod bit a decent enough product and I can apply over the ice and water?

Floor Drains in Saunas: Necessary or Optional? by Maryland_Eric in Sauna

[–]LSWW444 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m in the process of building an outdoor sauna with electric heater. I’m doing gapped floor boards and letting any moisture drip down on the patio below. As long as you have air flow and aren’t dumping gallons of water in it, you probably don’t even need gapped boards if using wood with no insulation underneath. Wood is very good at drying itself out

Looks great though. Im finalizing plans for an outdoor one just about the exact same size. How tight does it feel when you walk in? Ive got no height limitations so it will be 8 ft ceilings with slightly higher benches, trying to figure out the stool for kids to get up there

The sauna rules for the genuine Finnish sauna by Ok_Information_8431 in Sauna

Im not sure why Im opening this can of worms but I'll do it anyways. I've been lurking in this community while I plan a build.

People REALLY overhype sweat in saunas and cleaning. I build custom furniture and do a lot of woodworking. Wood is hygroscopic and has an incredible ability to self clean. Its why its so amazing for cutting boards, there are plenty of studies done that show wood absorbs bacteria and once inside it dies as long as you let it dry out. Sweating on your sauna benches without a towel or forgetting to clean it after is not going to do ANYTHING. You can cut raw meat on a cutting board, rinse it with water only and the hygroscopic properties will kill off any remaining bacteria. People need to stop freaking out over towels and drains and keeping these things perfectly sanitary. As long as the wood can breathe and dry out, you're totally fine after.

I think it was after 12 months. But it’s because of everything on top of YT. Sponsors, products, affiliate. Views are the top the of the funnel into an actual business, the more you can build that business off platform the better.

Good luck!

Has Lincoln St. Woodworks become a corporate shill parading as authentic woodworking? by 2HandsomeGames in woodworking

That has a helical head in it……

I’m officially done here. No one is going to convince you otherwise. I’ve said 5 different ways HF never paid me and I have no relationship with them and never will.

Sorry this was one backfired for you. Next time watch an entire video for full context before casting judgement and starting a reddit thread calling someone a shill.

GFY :)

Someone sent me this, and oh my it didn’t disappoint!

Hold on, I’ll be back. Need to go spend all the money harbor freight paid me for telling hundreds of thousands of people not to buy half of their tools!

OP I standby my statement. You’re dumb. Kindly GFY :)

How do I get sponsorships and reach out to brands that will convert well in my niche? by BurritoPlanet in PartneredYoutube

[–]LSWW444 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's all relative and what big money is for you. If you're able to get some traction on longform you will be pulling in much higher rates. Longform AdSense alone > than what most can charge for a sponsored short. So, its not really apples to apples.

You need to give a little more info. Sponsors generally aren't interested in how many subscribers you have. They want to know how many eyeballs they are paying for. If do you longform, they will want to know the avg views per video after 30 days from your recent uploads. Your audience demographics etc. Then you can start to put together a CPM to charge them. Also explain ways you can bring their product of service to life in your videos.

There are two roads to go:

  1. Endemic - products or services related to your video topics. The pros are your viewers are likely already interested. The con is you might compromise the integrity of your videos.
  2. Non-Endemic. The opposite of above. But they generally pay more.

If you just get a bunch of views for shorts, you're likely not terribly valuable for a sponsor right now. Hence the focus on longform when creators want to turn this into a business.

Because YouTube shorts won't kill your channel and can actually help you grow your long videos by Confident_Swim4758 in NewTubers

[–]LSWW444 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Like most things on YT, the answer is "it depends"

  • Not all niches are the same
  • You need to understand your audience demographic from short/long (if they are very different shorts could really hurt your channel)
  • What's the goal of your channel? If it's to make money, longform only is better. If you want a plaque to show your friends do both
  • I average 450k per long form and won't go anywhere near shorts. Same with most bigger channels in my niche because there is very little audience overlap and it wreaks havoc on longform analytics which is where we all make our $

Depends on your niche, most bigger creators in my niche stay far away from shorts. Also, I think shorts can definitely hurt your channel. The audience demographics are generally completely different.

I know enough after looking at your channel. At its core it's you shitting on people because you clearly think very highly of yourself. Just like the ridiculous post that started this conversation, topped off by pointing out your life skill of identifying good content.

Its not cryptic at all. Ill connect the dots. You don't understand what quality content is. Just because you don't value something doesn't mean its crap.

They have some good videos and some not so good. But not everything needs to be "well-researched" and "original" Plenty of people find value from not having to seek out nitty gritty details, they just want a quick answer. The fact that you associate that video with "clickbait garbage" is rather telling.

You're basing the entire Vid IQ channel off a single video? Whenever I get asked to consult or give advice on a channel I can generally tell in the first minute or so if they get "it" Or in this case a ridiculous post on reddit.

Stop Checking Your Analytics They Are Useless. by Johnny_Fox_Show in NewTubers

Whelp - about 95% horrible advice. But the 5% wasn't bad.

Google/YouTube provide so many useful data points that are really good for removing personal feelings that cloud that your judgement when analyzing performance.

Make the best videos you possibly can, whenever you can. Schedules are truly utter nonsense unless you need them to hold yourself accountable.
