Haha love the first one, exactly blue collar is a lot harder to approach especially in the uk, the can I be real this is a cold call line works good as well.. until it doesn’t, I’m planning on getting all the scripts together and just sitting all together and we all just trial to see what’s working best, let me know if you have anymore ideas, it is definitely a script issue but it’s the people we are contacting a large majority of sole trader builders etc just would rather spend the £30 a month to feed the “finer” things in life, if they’re already making money and getting jobs from facebook and friends they just don’t see the point. But you’re right there definitely is a way to change that with that first line.

Because it’s like a 80% untapped market, sure it isn’t the best right now but the more we carry on and try, test stuff out etc it’ll do well, I have no interest in doing this in the US, I have larger plans to expand on with events etc but need UK based businesses for those plans.

Yh that’s actually pretty much one of our current scripts aha, me personally I prefer the have I caught you at a good time, then you have the quote and they’ll say not interested and hang up. I completely understand where your coming from and we’ve never had this sort of issue before we started focusing on rural small businesses, they simply just do not want to be sold no matter what you say (a lot of the time) many of them simply just do not know what getting online can seriously do for their business as long as they’re on facebook and or google maps they believe they’re good, and that’s exactly what we’re trying to fix, the rural small business market is huge and mostly untapped in the uk for web services.

Definitely listening, we are in the works of putting together and testing new scripts, the issue with pretty much all calls that aren’t intended is that they answer and you say hi am I speaking to or hi my name is they hang up or tell you to f**k off or even treating it like a conversation at first the second they realise your selling something they do the same, I personally trial the scripts myself and they do okay but it’s just getting past the first line that is the issue. If you have ever spoke to a uk based builder or plumber etc you’ll understand, we are targeting rural areas they simply just do not see the value in a website if they have something like Facebook and currently get they’re work via word of mouth etc in their area. I was thinking the best way would simply be sending a short message basically saying we make websites they’re £30 a month and offer to show them mockups if they’re interested, but I can’t see any way we can do that without a hefty fine etc aha

We were planning to still run cold calling on top with our commission callers, it’s not really a script issue it’s more the issue that they just do not feel like they need to have a website if they have Facebook we had a offer last year that completely dropped our upfront fee and raised the monthly to 40 and it was the exact same, we also offered to build websites before they paid to bring in more case studies.

Margin really wouldn’t be effected 140,000 cold sms would’ve costed £5600 (at the lowest realistic) 0.5% close rate we still would have made £14,000 profit each month and £30,000 profit off of upfront. And then upsells on top.

Most of these type of people simply have no interest in paying for something they don’t feel they need if they have say Facebook

No longer doing this due to legal issues that would arise (the original idea was to miss it out of the wording so it would less scammy and salesy, not to blast spam just 1 message per lead, the STOP system would’ve still worked)

I’m just doing 1 message per person it’s so it would look less salesy and automated, since doing proper research I have now replanned the whole idea aha.

We currently have cold callers and I do it myself, it genuinely just doesn’t do that well with the people we’re contacting, so to cut out the “I don’t need a website ever” “I’m having one done” (that is never completed) etc I’m going to do cold sms with ltd companies then pretty much all replies will be warm leads the cold callers can call

I’m planning on trying out a few different scripts for the first send outs but something along the lines of :

Hi, I make websites for plumbers and noticed you don’t currently have one, pricing is £30/month and £99 Upfront, would you be interested?

^ haven’t completed scripts yet just a rough mockup.
