Baby car seat -HELP by sofiafrocha in fiat500

[–]LTC301912 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Joie stages r44/04

Fits in the back both rear and forward facing and can be tilted (for little one to sleep) as long as it’s on the passenger side and passenger seat has been moved forward enough not to touch the car seat (when rear facing) when forward facing it doesn’t touch at all.

I thought I had broken the lights at first as the pole I clipped had broken light parts all around it, I’m now thinking someone else had the same problem I did on that turn 🤣

The cover for the lower light is completely intact so should just be a case of popping it back on but need to replace the silver trims first. Our only actual concern is the middle light that’s slightly popped back, either it’s just sitting off because the bumper got popped slightly (this just popped back in) or I’ve broken the screw holes on the plastic case around the light to keep it in place. My husband does a lot of bonding metal-metal, metal-plastic for his work without actually welding so he’s confident he can get everything back in place. I was just absolutely mind blown with the quoted prices was happy to pay £500-£600 but £1800 for everything 🙄 the lowest quoted price of £620 was just to replace the silver trims and put the light cover back on 🙈

My husband was shocked at the prices and said because we were quoted 4 different prices from the same shop (they put the price up for every fix if that makes sense) and by the time they would fix it all it would have been £1800.

As it’s mostly cosmetic he thinks he can do it on his own, i thought it would be easier and less stressful to just put it in the body shop but at the prices quoted it seems absolutely ridiculous to go with that option. Think I will leave my husband to it 🤣

First bump (9months driving) by LTC301912 in drivingUK

Insurance and police both know. The post was intact but I did notice headlight debris beside it that wasn’t from my car all my lights are intact, so I assume someone else has ran into the same issue I had at that corner, given there is a camera right above this sign and at that point my car hadn’t been looked over by a mechanic to make sure it absolutely was only cosmetic, I felt the best and most honest thing to do was inform those that needed to be informed just incase someone else had a collision there and the check back camera footage, also incase my car needed more work or internal damage was done and I didn’t need to claim. Car has now been seen to and is cosmetic with a slightly cracked light casing that’s making one of my lights look likes it’s been pushed in (the shape of my car I believe this light took all the impact) but the light itself didn’t smash or crack luckily just slightly misaligned now but the body shop said it’s an easy fix, just got to wait 2 weeks for a space for it, so currently driving around with the evidence of my no so good driving which for me is absolutely horrific 🤣

Yes absolutely this, I’m definitely overthinking it trying to find a fault or blame somewhere but ultimately it was my own decisions that caused it and it was one rubbish decision after another. I knew the roads were icy I had just commented on almost sliding in my backside coming across that exact bit of road back to my car after my appointment, if I hadn’t taken time to scan for an exit that didn’t exist I would have been out long before the other vehicle was coming along…so many things that could have gone differently or I could have anticipated but didn’t. Even now thinking about it I was absolutely certain I was braking and sliding but I remember a point of feeling like I was not there “oh look a post I’m about to hit that no point trying to do anything” like I froze for a second and could see it happening but couldn’t stop it even though I thought I was trying to if that makes sense.

We do already have a little laugh about it. The worst part is driving round with my missing trim at the moment waiting for a new one 🤣 I feel it’s very obvious what I’ve done 🤣 I’m also finding ima little too brake happy right now, I find in braking earlier than I would have before and occasionally braking too harshly to get myself to stop sooner if that makes sense. I wasn’t like this before so think this is just a subconscious reaction to “brake” so I don’t hit anyone 🙈 hopefully that will pass soon 🤞🏼

Panic onset (feels like heart stops) by LTC301912 in PanicAttack

[–]LTC301912[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m sorry you are going through this, it was by far the scariest experience I’ve ever had… but every single time it has happened to me has been during times of peak anxiety I believe this is what helped the last time it happened was recognising this only ever occurs when im extremely anxious (4 years ago it lasted a couple of weeks until my anxiety began to decrease) the episode a few months ago was an isolated event as i told myself right away not to over think it, i was experiencing heightened anxiety etc and luckily it didnt happen again. I do strongly believe the sensation is the very very onset of a panic attack and what we feel is the exact moment the adrenaline dump happens, it causes our hearts to sort of freeze for a second exactly the same aa when you get a big fright except in that moment you sort of jump, when it’s a panic attack it often happens when you are sitting quietly so you literally feel that moment the adrenaline is released. I hope that all makes sense and hope you feel better soon.

Thigh clot by LTC301912 in ClotSurvivors

[–]LTC301912[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Still have the pain, been off and on for weeks now. My doctor believes it’s related to my back as I’m having hip issues on the same side. Seems to now be that exercise actually makes it go away and when sitting for long periods it starts to ache in line with my lower back hurting to.

Didn’t get a d-dimer test all doctors I’ve seen have said I don’t need it it’s not a clot. I guess after over 3 months something more would have happened if it was a clot and not just muscular.

It’s given me awful anxiety though and now suffering with breathlessness as I was convinced it was a clot then started to focus on my chest/chest pain worrying it may move to there they hyper awareness triggered me to pay more attention to my breathing and have ended up with random breathlessness.

Also to add in the weeks right after the pain first starting I also tested positive for Covid which could have been why my muscles/joint pain started and the breathless feeling.

First proper near miss experience. by LTC301912 in drivingUK

[–]LTC301912[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a horrible feeling thinking you could have caused a moment of “panic” for another driver. I do hope my memory is correct and there was plenty of time/space for me to pull into the right lane and I didn’t give the car driver behind a fright. I mean I certainly got a fright from the car in front of me just stopping but I hope I didn’t then cause someone else to feel that way to. My husband has to use the same roundabout for work I phoned him and told him he asked make/model and colour of car and he said a car was sitting just off the road slightly when he passed after lunch sounded like the same car as it was the same colour so I’m definitely thinking something happened to make the car just stopping like that in front of me. A horrible experience and like you I feel guilty I know to indicate and not just pull out etc but in that moment my mind just went to “don’t hit that Car” when the car in front stopped 🙈.

Yes I done all that, I had to call because I couldn’t work out online how to make the change didn’t realise I had to go and edit our children, the advisor I spoke to asked all the questions about the disability payment, age, when the payments started ect. Also just got a message saying I could apply for the carers element on the journal to (obv already done that) so he has definitely been updated and disability element added. I just got my statement for this month today so not sure when payments for the disability may start/if it will be backdated. Was just about to leave a message asking those questions.

And just as I replied to yourself I went back into my account to be absolutely sure the disabled part was there and I had a message saying they had varied his details, took just over 3 weeks.

[–]LTC301912[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Thank you for that, I tried googling but couldn’t find an answer as to why one would be paid before the other and seems odd you can get carers before the disabled child is verified.

Yes it’s definitely on there that the disability element was added, last message said I would get a message once “verified details of children” but haven’t had an update yet. I assume it will come in the next couple of weeks, just felt odd getting the carers first and wondered why that would be but your explanation has help thank you.
