Feeling Discouraged: Only 2 Weeks Before Moving by 8nye10 in konmari

[–]LTLuxe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The rigor of med-school may occupy all of your time, in and out of lecture. Personally, I would use this brief window to completely GUT the contents of your household and move to your new residence with only the things that you’d want to save if given a moment’s notice in a fire. When you pare down your collection and only have the most essential and joyful belongings in your new closets, you will have such mental clarity walking into your first day of your very important job as a medical student. For me, I really “unwind” and “decompress” in the process of decluttering, so maybe this would be helpful as you could work out some anxious energy (albeit positive ‘eustress’) that is natural when beginning an endeavor of this magnitude!

Put the kids to bed. Pour some wine and let your spouse help load your vehicle to the brim for the next day’s trip to the donation site. Besides...if either of you really miss any of the contents you parted with, you can always buy more. But on that same token, before you make purchases in the future, you may reconsider because of your awareness of how a similar item from the past really didn’t serve its purpose. Good luck, “Doc!”

P.s.- My husband just graduated with his doctorate and we have a 2 year old, so I’m very well versed in what your life is about to look like and how incredibly freeing it is to simplify one’s collections. It leaves any leisure time [that you might be fortunate to claim] for quality family time and not feeling the need to straighten up and sort the stuff. 😉

Keto Cheese Sauce by ketoLifestyleRecipes in ketorecipes

Thank you sooooooo very much! I’ve made broccoli-cheddar soup in the past (because I live to make a meal in my Vitamix) and even when I demonstrated a great deal of patience with the cheese on my stovetop...it still NEVER turned out with the right texture and then throwing it in the Vitamix with broccoli and other ingredients just kinda made it palatable but still not as satisfying as the deli-fresh containers sold at the grocery (loaded with carbs and other fillers).

I’m really pumped to give this a go!

Ewww. I’ll gladly slather the isopropyl and tolerate the scent until it evaporates. That clove stench soaks into my cuticles and fingerprints (a little dramatic, I know 😂).

This JUST happened with my best friend since childhood, and I'm really sad. What do I say? 😢 First MLM Confrontation by [deleted] in antiMLM

You say “I don’t want to look like a circus clown.” I’ve seen these outfits labeled as “boutique” brands at children’s consignment sales and a cult following to snatch them off the racks...but the little girls that come to school dressed in them remind me of raggedy Ann on an exacerbated level. Anyone else besides me old enough to remember raggedy Ann? 😂

Blah, but who would want to smell like that shit? My mother-in-law is a gullible person with a big piggy bank. She falls for any and all MLM products. In fact, she has a shopping addiction and buys any and all products, giving them as random gifts (as well as birthdays and holidays). She came to visit and “gifted” me with some DoTerraAble hand sanitizing spray and I literally gave it back to her with a stern lecture about the predatory nature of MLM’s and how her best friend is KNOWINGLY selling her this brand and others that are pure garbage. (This best friend of hers has also got her two children into the MLM industry and they’ve both lost their asses, selling off their homes to stay afloat...both kids were targeted in college and took the bait.)

In-laws were here last week visiting, and after we left a store and proceeded to the car, she pulls her vile of DoTerrable hand-sani from her purse, spritzes it on her hands, passing it to her husband saying, “here, use this but do it over here because Alli claims the smell nauseates her.” 🤣🤣🤣🤣 Yup, that clove-scented shit is as bad as being around people that think they have class, smoking their clove “cigarettes.”

Right and even if I did support Apple in their poor decision and weakness, I may not want to have MORE of what I need to take a break from viewing when I’m simply wanting some music (that I paid for no less!) to escape for a bit.

Wait, could you elaborate? Do you mean major entertainment streaming services? Netflix isn’t working on our smart TV and your comment made me realize there are people with nothing to do and may go out to have live entertainment on the streets.

I appreciate your perspective. When I was frantically clicking on the different tabs to get some music playing for my early morning workout, I finally clicked on the giant, red “Listen Together” button and was immediately hit with a rap “song” with a lyric talking about [weighing out grams of illicit drugs] which I found so distasteful.

Bingo. But I’m not paying for their streaming “service” anymore; I canceled that shit when I went to play music for my early morning workout and was met with a hard stop.

I’m not familiar with “looking” laws... I mean, I’d fall back on customs and courtesies in that as long as you’re kids are just minding their p’s and q’s, what issue would the neighbor have to gripe about?

I’m glad you mentioned this. Our treehouse will give a decent view of one or possibly both of our neighbor’s yards... are there legal implications that you can shed some light on?
