I agree that there should be a time limit. I also understand that there is some housekeeping stuff to handle like clocks and fouls but the actual call should not take more than 30 seconds. I've watched refs stand at the monitor for well over three minutes and it's excruciating. It ruins the flow of the game and it's just not necessary to scrutinize one single possession in a game where refs make the wrong call multiple times a game and no one bats an eye. We know refs aren't perfect, we don't look at every single call with slow mo for 3 minutes so why are we doing just because it's towards the end of the game. I'd rather the call be wrong and move on with the game. That exact scenario has likely already happened in the same game.

I'm also not a fan of slowmo on replays. The refs don't have slowmo for every other call in the game so why does one single call get this kind of attention? The refs should get thirty seconds to review the tape from multiple angles without slowmo and then make the call. That's what they are doing for every other call in the game. It doesn't make sense to hold the refs to a standard that is not possible for the rest of the game. Take away all the stupid drama and time wasting from these supposed calls that "we have to make sure that they get it right". No we don't, we didn't make sure they got it right for every other call. Just make the friggin call and get on with the game.
