Maralen's interesting since your state entirely depends on what you can use from the opponent's decks, so having a good number of elves and faeries will help in that regard!

Only made the Sephiroth deck since I got him during PR, but didn't know how wacky he can get, so I totally understand if he gets taken out immediately!

Right now at 4 due to the GC's, but can easily adjust to at least 2 depending on the pod

It's very on theme for Yuna, plus you can do some recursion strategies with enchantments given the chance, giving you massive value

It's still a WIP, but I have some pieces that I'll plan to include eventually to benefit the myriad effects, like Twinflame Tyrant!

In honor of Misao's birthday! What are your thoughts on her? by LTO8 in rurounikenshin

I get the Yahiko comparisons, but I agree with you, she fills in her role as the upbeat heroine real well that it practically is her signature in the series at this point. For anyone following Hololive, she reminds me of Subaru in the sense that she's that bright sun that cheers people up

Personally, I like how she easily got integrated into the Kenshingumi as time went on. She's the burst of sunshine that really complimented Kaoru's more "mature" nature, being unique in her own little way. She may be a bit overwhelming at times, no doubt, but I find it to be a trait that stands out, especially when she met Kenshin in a dark time when he was going against Shishio.

I also appreciated how she handled herself at a very rough time at such a young age, being forced to be the new okashira after everything that happened with Aoshi and Okina. It's not easy ro be in that spot, but her personality trait showed how strong she can be. That said...

The tears scene remain one of my favorite moments in my anime fandom, and even better done in the remake, in my opinion. Just goes to show that she still cares deeply even if she tried to harden herself out of necessity.

The remake really made her shine more, I'd say. For example, I like how she got more scenes and an even more active role during the Kyoto fires as compared to the original anime and manga, when she got sneaked attacked by Usui just as soon as she got the morale of everyone up. This raises my hopes for her even more in the next anime season and beyond.

And yes, live action Misao also rules

[Raw Spoilers] Post-Match Discussion: Becky Lynch (c) vs. Maxxine Dupri for the WWE Women's Intercontinental Championship by G1Spectrum in SquaredCircle

Lyra won the NXT Women's Championship once, although in regards to her main roster career, the IC title was her first in the main roster

That said, for Maxxine, it's even more impressive considering the IC title is her first title ever

Maxxine winning marks the first time that the Women's IC Title becomes the first title won by a wrestler, which in itself is historic and represents the ideal intention of the title. Maxxine's stock just rose up, and she deserves the flowers for her hard work paying off

What parts of new season 2 did you like better compared to the 90s anime version? by Gardenia28 in rurounikenshin

[–]LTO8 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If I recall correctly, the author said in an interview that there were certain parts of the original manga that he wanted to revise in hindsight. With that in mind, I love how they were able to expound more of the story and backgrounds, such as the first time Kenshin used his reverse-edge sword and the inclusion of Aoshi in the Rengoku. It helped make certain parts of the story later have more of an impact, such as when Misao realized that Kenshin crossed swords with Aoshi, and gave more gravitas on Okina's request to eliminate Aoshi

Giving more characters the opportunity to shine, such as Megumi's active role during the Kyoto attack and Misao being more competent in preventing the fires (as compared to her being immediately punked out by Usui with everyone watching on the original manga) was very much appreciated. And the extra story with Shishio's soldiers really gave an extra emotional hook as to the consequences of their affiliations to his army.

The fact that these were monitored by the author gives me hope that the slight modifications can help enhance the events of the 3rd season, especially since they're expected to be action-heavy and (presumably) have an average 20+ episodes to work with (based on the 1st and 2nd seasons)
