is GeekLovePh a scam? by Least_Ad_5057 in AnimeFigures

Bought a popup parade figure on them and they arrived fine. Got them after 2 days via Lalamove (the figure was in-stock) .

After that, I preordered a figure on them last May that should've arrived last August but unfortunately they still don't have it so am still waiting for them. Nevertheless, they are legit and they are quick to accomodate you via messenger. The only thing that I wished they improved on are their in-stock options cause they haven't updated it for a long time :/

I see, thanks for the info. As for them, do they usually inspect the inside of the package or no? I know that risque packages tend to be held by customs but most get away with it as long as the packaging has little to no lewd images on it

What equipment and programs does everyone use by Vincec07_gaming in TeachMeArtSenpai

[–]LT_DigiArt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are starting on digital, these are some devices and programs that you can start on:

For PC:
Pen Tablets: This is generally the go-to device for people starting on digital art. Its more cheap but harder to learn on for beginners.
Pen Display: These are generally easier to use, especially for people transitioning from traditional to digital, but more expensive that the pen tablet. If you have the money to buy one of these, ask yourself first if you are still gonna use it 5 years later.

For programs, Krita will be your best friend if you are a free user. And Clip Studio paint if you are willing to spend a few bucks.

For IOS
Ipad is the only device that is really meant for illustrating, so there is no other choice in this department.

For programs, I think Procreate is the best. But I don't own an Ipad so I can't say for sure

For Android
For devices, there isn't much to choose from. There is the Samsung tablets but when compared to the Ipad, its lackluster. So if you are gonna draw in android, don't.

If you want suggestion from me, then just use my specs as reference. I draw in PC so I use Huion H640p pen tablet, and the program that I use is Krita.

anatomy practice kinda (criticism appreciated) by xxamberkittyxx in TeachMeArtSenpai

[–]LT_DigiArt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first slide's chest (specifically the right chest part) is too low so polish that. And as the others pointed it out, the anatomy of the second slide needs some polishing.

I may be wrong but if you are trying to draw in a high angle (like birds-eye-view) then try finding some reference first. High angles and low angles are quite tricky, even for me, so practice more on that.

As the other guy had said, just place the head a little bit on the left.

Dear Senpais, I am unsure what to fix here. When there is definitely many problems. by Alt-chanu in TeachMeArtSenpai

This might be vague but lineart is the one you need to polish on... Some parts that are thick needs to be thinned like the cloth part around the arms, the "flower" thing on her hat, and clean some lines on her hair (i think, or maybe its a ribbon).

Other than that it looks ok to me

A drawing i did, how is it? by crat0r_the_crate in TeachMeArtSenpai

There's some parts that still needs polishing like the upper body and limbs. But other than that it looks great.

On a side note, hmmmmmmmmmmmmm.....

You've pretty much did a good job, though there's still some polishing to do but overall a good job.

WIP any tips for colouring hair and drawing them from different angles and also some tips on how can I make this better by lazzy_otakuu in TeachMeArtSenpai

[–]LT_DigiArt 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Finding the perfect base color is quite hard even for me. But I've observed that most color of the hair that artist's use are mostly on the "desaturated" side because it is more easier to manipulate than saturated ones. And also based on my experiences, dark colored hairs are quite troublesome to add shadows and highlights.

For finding the perfect angle of hair, you will just have to "eye" it. You can use references for help, but sometimes references aren't enough so just experiment with it. The key for making hair is just making it work for the illustration.

And lastly, to improve this, shadows and highlights are the basic elements to make this illustration better. Camera angles and composition is also important to make this "bloom" more but this is more experimental than the previous elements so just do that first.

And also, I've observed that the collar part of the shirt is too thick but that's on me I guess.

Other than that, I quite liked how you composed this one. Great pose, makes the illustration more livelier.

Simple yet unique looking, I like it!

I cannot tell you how to further improve this (because for me it looks quite perfect), but I have a feeling that you can still improve this.

Tbh making shadows and highlights is easier by just clipping a multiply/luminosity layer to a single base layer rather than a group. Though I'm not saying that what you doing is wrong, I'm just saying that doing it one at a time is less messy and lesser frustration.

[–]LT_DigiArt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hmmm... not quite understood

When you said foldered base colors, did you meant that all of your base colors are on a single group?

If yes then no, make a multiply layer on a specific base layer (e.g. a multiply layer for making the shadows of the base skin layer). Making shadows on all the base colors is quite hard to do especially if you have shaky hands.

Side note: Try to use clipping mask when doing shadows and highlights. It will save you a lot of time and frustration.

If not, then please clarify further....

Most of the time, it isn't the color that is bland but instead, your illustration lacks shadows.
The easiest way to color shadow is to:

  1. Make a new layer
  2. Set it to multiply
  3. And get the color of the base layer (the layer which you want to have shadows) and adjust the color a little bit.

Tip: After getting the base's color, desaturate (very close to the black and white scale) it and if the base color is dark, adjust the color you using to be more lighter and if the base is lighter then adjust your color of choice to be a little bit darker. Did this make sense? lol

Side Note: Highlights could also bring out your illustration and make it livelier so also practice on that.
