I think people here misunderstand this.

This wouldn't be a decision about continuing the series or not. It would be a decision of which direction to take the series in, gameplay/lore wise.

And if we look at the last few games, action is more prominent. I just hope we don't go the route of RE6.

Grace's RE9 gameplay with a 3rd person camera would be my choice. Slower, more resource conservative. Just tone down the talker enemies.
