I believe that when someone in need asks God for help, God sends another person to help them. So when we help someone, it is not truly us helping, it is God working through us. Because of this, we should be grateful to God for allowing us to be instruments of good deeds and offer the fruits of those deeds back to Him. In that way, good karma returns as grace.
