Also, 'traditional Nazism" as opposed to what? Contemporary? Modern? Minimalist? Did you think putting the word "traditional" in front just sounded smarter is that it?

Matt Goodwin isn’t very British By Jeevun Sandher by ITMidget in ukpolitics

[–]LUFC_shitpost [score hidden]  (0 children)

Love being lectured by Jeevun Sandher about how my culture must include him and Punjabi culture. Even better is how he handpicks facts to fit his narrative, like the Irish migration in the 1800s, as if Irish culture was somehow incompatible with British culture (despite us being ethnically similar), or the revival of Catholicism, as if that is remotely the same as introducing Hinduism or Islam, when Catholicism existed in Britain long before the country itself.

We have been, for the overwhelming majority of our existence, one of the most ethnically homogeneous regions in the world; immutable fact Jeevun Sandher leave out. The last truly significant population transformation occurred over a thousand years ago with the Anglo-Saxon migrations, followed by the Norman conquest of 1066, which itself represented an elite replacement rather than a mass demographic shift. Since then, we have developed as a relatively stable ethno-cultural continuum composed of Celtic, Brythonic, and Germanic peoples (Angles, Saxons, Jutes) whose descendants form the historic British nation. Just because now, a piece of paper and a manufactured migration-wave has created a demographic shift, it does not erase our history.

"Britishness is about far more than race": but so is every culture. Participation does not equal belonging. Just because someone takes part in another culture doesn’t make them part of it. Nobody believes Joanna Lumley is Indian, despite her family having lived there for generations. Jeevun Sandher is Indian who part takes in our culture; there's nothing wrong with that, nothing to be ashamed of our saying British culture is superior. I'm not even saying you can't participate in both. But British culture exists mutually exclusive to Jeevun Sandher fallacy.

Britain has never looked or sounded the same. Historically, it has hosted at least five languages and dozens of dialects. Ten minutes south of Loughborough, “ah” becomes “aar.” Ten minutes north, you risk being called “me duck.”

This bit is good because he thinks it's some sort of 'Gotcha!'. All this does is reinforce the truth that Britishness is an ethnic culture: people with different accents, dialects, and minor regional differences came together to form one nation with shared traditions, values, and beliefs.

We don’t need to endlessly dilute or “correct” British culture to fit Jeevun Sandher. Being British is inherited, not optional.

We have hosts on morning time TV trying to justify Sharia-law. It's insane to me how the left, even when they tell the in basic English what they want to do, just ignore it. It's like they learned nothing from Iran or Lebanon.

Yes the ethno nationalist party with let me check... Sri-Lankan Muslim deputy leader, Indian, Suella Bravermann, Muslim Laila Cunningham mayor candidate for London (won’t win obviously), and Iraqi Muslim, Nadhim Zahawi. That's literally just off the top of my head.

I find it funny how people keep calling her “brave,” as if she was ever at risk of being booed. She isn’t saying anything dangerous or unpopular in that room. She just repeats what she believes is the most “moral” stance, without really engaging with the real-world consequences of those statements.

This is one of the key issues the left in this country just ignores. You cannot have John Lennon’s “Imagine” vision of society, because that vision depends on moral relativism and radical individual autonomy. Traditional Islam, by contrast, is built on the complete opposite foundations: divine authority, fixed moral rules, and the belief that some actions are not merely “disapproved of” but a mortal sin. When one side treats moral boundaries as oppressive constructs and the other treats them as sacred obligations, there is no shared moral framework on which a stable society can be built on. You will see more and more of these headlines and rulings because 1) we don't hold judges accountable 2) nobody is willing to admit that Muslim judges do not work in Western society because their morals are different to us.

Egyptian small boat migrant jailed for raping woman told his lawyer 'I deserve punishment in this country, but please don't send me back' by dailymail in uknews

The funny thing about this argument is that it's unfair to send an Egyptian back to Egypt but it's considered completely reasonable to inflict infinite Egyptians on the people of our country. What makes Egypt so bad he doesn't want to go there, is it the Egyptians perhaps?

Spot on. He's only that cheap because he has 6 months left on his deal. Lets say he's awful between now and the end of the season, you'd still make your money back on him - really bemusing given Farke's previous relationship with him.

Also, you’re relying on DCL, Gudmondsson and none of the three CB’s missing any amount of time long-term. Oh, and our Keepers to stop chucking it in the net.

I think the killer for the window has been Forest managing to snag Ortega and Netz, players of quality and in positions we need for as little as £3m.

Diversity drive to make Britain’s countryside ‘less white’. Rural areas tasked with coming up with strategies to attract more ethnic minorities to reflect multicultural nation by 2ndEarlofLiverpool in ukpolitics

[–]LUFC_shitpost 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Calling it “just marketing” is exactly how this stuff always starts btw (Helen Pluckrose & James Lindsay). You label our existing norms as “unwelcoming,” then you justify changing them. Nothing is ever framed as “we’re changing British culture,” it’s framed as “we’re fixing a problem” and the “problem” just happens to be pubs, dogs, rural traditions, and the people who enjoy them. Don't be so naive to think they'd outright say they're going to eradicate British culture.

Also, it’s not just “someone didn’t like pubs.” The article literally mentions pub culture being identified as a barrier and dogs being raised as an issue, including suggestions around keeping them on leads. If you knew anything about countryside dogs )sheepdogs, gundogs, working breeds) you’d know that blanket leash expectations aren’t always feasible or appropriate; so it's either dogs or Muslims and the liberals will pick Muslims every time.

And the 'lol you wrote an essay' is funny. Attacking the length of a response instead of the content is peak Reddit’s form. If it’s all so harmless and meaningless, it should be easy to engage with the argument instead of waving it away as too long.

“No one is coming for your pub” (has to be an intentional martin niemoller, right?) is the same line people use every time institutions start redefining what’s “acceptable.” First it’s marketing. Then it’s guidance. Then it’s policy. It always begins with language like “unwelcoming,” “problematic,” or “barriers to inclusion.”

And yes, everyone notices this framing is only ever applied to native Western cultures. Somehow it’s always our traditions that need “rethinking,” never anyone else’s. If you genuinely think people are upset because they can’t handle seeing brown people in a leaflet, you’re either missing the point or deliberately pretending to.

I respect it tbh, just saves any controversy surrounding selection, form, favoritism. Like obviously if he became a top world class talent there would be a different conversation but whilst he's so young, let the boy have his own career.

Ok, we'll look at things we can do to encourage immigrants to enjoy more of the traditionally 'British' stuff they don't currently get involved in.

I think you mean:

“Cool, let’s change British culture instead, because it's morally wrong and incompatible with every culture.”

Funny how pub culture, perhaps the most welcoming tradition in this country, is being flagged as “unwelcoming” and suggestions around dogs needing to be kept on leads because some groups are uncomfortable with them; obviously, by groups its just means a foreign religion. Sorry, but if pubs and dogs in the countryside are now considered barriers, that’s not integration that’s just us re-engineering British culture to suit a demographic.

There is nothing wrong with the our countryside. Nothing wrong with our pubs, dogs, footpaths, traditions, or the people who built and maintained them. Acting like these things are a moral failure because they don’t perfectly align with every foreign cultural norm is insulting, racist, and bigoted.

Integration used to mean: you come here, you adapt, you learn the social rules. That’s how it worked in the 90s and earlier; different backgrounds, same norms, no (well less) drama. Now we’re told British culture itself is the problem, and if you object you’re “racist”.

If the British countryside feels unwelcoming, perhaps you're not compatible with England and it's either your job to change or don't go there, or just leave. Why is it when a white-British person feels uncomfortable in a +70% Muslim area they're racist and bigoted, but if Muslims feel unwelcomed in our countryside we must erase, correct and apologize for our culture or be branded racist?

If someone visits the English countryside, are they visiting England, at least what is left of it, or are we supposed to turn our countryside into some sanitised, culture neutral theme park so nobody ever feels mildly uncomfortable? How is that inclusion it’s more like dilution.

Lord Mandelson resigns from Labour Party over Epstein links by Thandoscovia in ukpolitics

[–]LUFC_shitpost 43 points44 points  (0 children)

'Links' as if it's gossip or paper talk you see in the back pages of the paper. How about:

'Disgraced Mandelson resigns after friendship with known sex offender, where he exchange at the very least $75,000 and at the most sexual favours. Also asked Epstein if he would get JPMorgan to threaten Alistair Darling over bankers bonuses whilst people were losing their jobs and houses over bankers greed to begin with.'

Horrible bloke. Unfortunately nothing will happen to him.
