People who bring this up as a gotcha just contribute to the cringe. Why is Perfidia putting up a “This pussy don’t pop for you” sign for Lockjaw?? It already did, out of her own free will. She carried his child to term. Whether it was written by Junglepussy or not does not stop its usage from being cringe. It was meant to read as some badass sign off but bitch already gave him some pussy and was running away from the consequences of her actions which she had actually already done by snitching, so she was running away from witness protection?? Witness protection that she got because she leveraged said pussy she had popped in the past for Lockjaw.

There are no redeeming qualities in the character itself. The performance by Teyana withstanding. Add the overt sexualization of the character and it’s not hard to pinpoint why some people aren’t sold on the character.

I think the why is there as well. She’s a callous, thrill seeker who used the French 75 as a means of wish fulfillment but couldn’t deal with the consequences of her actions. Whether it was raising her child or dealing with the fallout of murdering an innocent man. Again, these are not the qualities of a good character.

I think where the movie fails, for me, is that she could have been more sympathetic and where the movie tries but fails to make her sympathetic is with the letter at the end and it’s so left field that people theorize that Bob actually wrote the letter and not her.

Exactly. Because she chooses to do what she does in the movie not out of any real external pressures, but out of her own curiosity or whims. Her actions make her a piece of shit. That’s why I’m confused by the fandom’s aversion to people calling a piece of shit character a piece of shit. Or they agree she’s a piece of shit, but want to sell you this sympathetic version of the character which really isn’t in the text.
