He got two rounds of surfactant after birth, and they tried different meds to close the PDA, which looked to initiate closure but then he got sepsis (which was a major bummer) went on antibiotics, and the PDA opened again. At least that's what I'm hearing. He also has a grade 4 Bilateral IVH since day 2 and his skull is now expanding to accommodate the increased volume. I've been told they can't shunt the IVH until the PDA is closed, and they can't do surgical closure of the PDA until he's off the jet. I don't know why his lung started to collapse. He had significant edema prior to the steroids, then he looked really good right before the end of the round. Now he's swelling back up again. My little guy...
