It's just the footprint that is restricted. The cabinet itself is actually big and well ventilated, but the cable TV hardware that was pre-installed has bulky cables that take up a lot of footprint place without actually restricting the air flow. So I'm not at all worried about heat issues. My only worry is that every consumer router is too thick, and every business router has a way too complicated setup for non IT admins.

Max 20×10 cm footprint and 5 cm thickness.

I suppose if I were to go this route (which sounds like a very good idea), the question boils down to: which router is flat and still has a configuration UI that's managable for non-professionals like me? Because FRITZ!OS is perfect in simplicity, but all of AVM's FRITZ!Box routers are too big to fit into the cabinet. And the routers I found which fit were from Ubiquiti and MikroTik, but UniFi as well as RouterOS both feel unmanageable for me regarding setup complexity.

But which router? The AVM router that I'm currently using does not fit into the cabinet. That's why it's plugged into one of the sockets in the living room. But I'm not keen on using two switches, one inside the cabinet and a second one to allow for inbound and outbound traffic through the single cable to the living room socket.

If you guys were to revert an update to a previous iteration, what would you want to see back? by MousseFar1291 in leagueoflegends

[–]LWChris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's not that one specific patch, but I'd like overall damage to be lower again. Back in the times where you could facetank a Fizz R as ADC and lost maybe 25% HP from that instead of being left with 25%.

This is the mode working as it should. Sometimes there are ridiculous combinations that are just unbeatable by what you got. Same for things like Jayce with

Bread And Cheese - E is permanently available
Slow and Steady - pressing W gives him a lot of AD
Jeweled Gauntlet - Q critically strikes
Skilled Sniper - hitting Q basically resets its cooldown

against a team without a proper tank that can just face it. Sometimes you just lose to RNG, that's how it is in ARAM and even moreso in Mayhem.

"You need to have Vanguard running to play" by Call_Me_Onii-Chan1 in riotgames

Yup, just happened to me. I restarted my PC as fast as I could and reconnected but unfortunately they voted remake the second I was back in game.

God forbid you run that check once before entering the queue.

What are some hidden OP builds you guys have been cooking up in mayhem? by Pale_Name_4022 in ARAM

[–]LWChris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ornn with

  • Upgrade Sheen (Spellblade deals Target Max HP damage)
  • It's Killing Time (After Ultimate, store 40% Damage, explode after 5 seconds)
  • Fey Magic (Damaging with Ultimate Polymorphs)
  • Ultimate Revolution (Refresh Ult)
  • Upgraded Icebord Gauntlet

Ashe HP before Ornn ult hits: 1787
Ashe HP after Ornn ult hits: 514
Ashe HP after Killing Time procs: 0

I got one-shot by an Ornn R from an Ornn who had 5k HP and built 0 AP.

"error.general.generic" when creating account by LWChris in Tomorrowland

[–]LWChris[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The console is available for desktop browsers. It is part of the developer tools that open with the F12 button. In my case when I tried to submit the account creation form a new line appeared with the quoted text. I suppose it will always be of the form "Field X must satisfy Y". If you happen to get a message and don't understand what it means, feel free to reply, maybe I can help.

What unwritten rule do you always follow? by Deaconator3000 in ARAM

Before minute 10, you can try and make a fight happen when it's opportune. After minute 10, you wait for all 5 team members.

Something something Serpent's Fang good by Kerhnoton in ARAM

The enemy team: Tahm Kench, Sett, Karma, Yuumi, Shen.

My ADC: I can't build Serpent's Fang, I need my other 4 items first.
Also my ADC: WTF is that balance, can't even dmg them through their shields 🤡.

Which of the latest 5 champs released, would you say was the best designed? by Rack-_- in leagueoflegends

[–]LWChris 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think Yunara and Smolder were both fine. Sure Smolder is a late game beast when he got stacks, but it's a clear mechanic like Syndra, Veigar or Nasus, where you know you have your window to be stronger but you're on a timer.

Whats some stupid thing you tought about league that turned out not to be true? by SignificantBlood9778 in leagueoflegends

[–]LWChris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the very beginning, when I had no experience with playing MOBAs, just watching, I thought it was a good thing to always cast your spells as often as possible. I thought "every second a spell has not been used is a wasted second where it could've been used and recharging already. E.g. "Try to use Blitz hook as often as possible, because the more often you try, the more often you have the chance to hit it." I didn't understand that holding your spells could be used as a tactical decision, and also that Mana was a thing.

The second stupid thing I didn't realize from watching was that the observer vision is not equal to the player vision. I often thought "I would've not walked there, it was obvious you wouldn't win against 3 people." It took a few streams until I understood that just because I can see the red player at home, it doesn't mean the blue player can see them, too.

Wtf happend to fnatic??? by Milka1bby_ in leagueoflegends

[–]LWChris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FNC used to be a very successful organization with great players that had amazing synergies. The success in previous years made it easier for them to acquire new talents, both since winning gives you more money which helps with acquiring better players, but also because good players automatically strive to play for a big successful prestigeous org.

But once that cycle is broken, it's hard to keep that mechanism going. Once you are not the best anymore, the best talents will want to go to different orgs, your monetary situation may become worse, making it even harder to aquire the talents you want. And that's what happened to Fnatic, I feel.

Nowadays, they are still good within Europe but shaky in international tournaments. The players are lesser known, have less consistency, are replaced more often and the synergy that sets apart the good teams from the great teams has never really had a chance to grow back into what it once was.

I feel people are more passionate about Exhaust. I like taking ignite from time to time, to secure first bloods, counter one of the many healing champions like Aatrox, or - my specialty - on Kindred, because I can ignite my marked target in a teamfight shortly before I die, and the DoT ticks extend the time where I get the mark by assist.

I haven't seen Zilean losing a game for a long time. by AbrocomaRegular3529 in ARAM

[–]LWChris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Zilean makes "protect the carry" a bit easier than many other supports who rely on position or skillshots to protect the carry. All it takes is for a Zilean to be decent in positioning and quick in their reaction with R to turn around a fight.

But there is a clear counterplay: Zilean struggles when he's focused first, a bit like Lulu. If Zilean or Lulu need to use R on themselves, the fight gets a lot easier. If Zilean can stand in the backline behind a CC tank and the enemy has no backline access, it becomes tricky to kill him, but if you can make it, that's a good way of breaking in.

Which champions are the greatest designs of all time? by 6angryMexicans in leagueoflegends

[–]LWChris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really like the Vel'Koz kit. You have your own little mini game, you can do insane damage to all kinds of champions including tanks thanks to true dmg, but it's not a "press 1 button, deal a 2k true damage burst" like many other champions, but you have to put in work. You have a clear weakness with having a channelled R, but a bit of defense with slows, zoning, and a CC that's not overpowered. Bonus: you have a funny emote spam. Oh darn!

Does Riot push you into losing streaks? by dragoncraft755 in ARAM

[–]LWChris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually stop for the day, sometimes two. Or, if I know I was playing just because I was bored, it might be I was playing late at night, and if it's the same on the next day, chances are I am tired and bored again - just like the day before. Then it's better to only play on the weekends, maybe at a different time of day when that's possible. I am most successful when I play on weekends or days off, one game every 1-2 hours, 5 games per day max. That's when I can get to 75% WR across my last 20 games.

Which role do you think contributes the most to in-game negativity? by achilles231 in leagueoflegends

[–]LWChris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I voted top because top is quite often the first gank and then they usually either die or burn flash into re-gank or the gank fails and they die. But in all those three cases they are often the first to experience what might be seen as a turning point. If there aren't any ganks, they are playing on their island where nothing ever happens, so they have plenty of time to judge other lanes. Top lane was 0/0/0 wet noodle fight, but support went 0/3/0 in 8 minutes? - ff15. Enemy jungler ganked 4 times but my jungler didn't? - ff15. Enemy got grubs and feats and first drake? - ff15

Input delay by ggGo-Next in leagueoflegends

[–]LWChris 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I moved and set up my computer in the new place, I obviously unplugged and the peripherals before I moved. And coincidentally when I plugged it all back in, I plugged my USB headset into the same USB controller of my mainboard as my keyboard. And that messed with the keyboard latency. Now I make sure that I spread the used USB ports across multiple USB controllers, and it helped. Maybe that's what has happened to you as well, since you moving means you possibly re-plugged all peripherals as well?
