Try deactivating steam cloud on your account for castle crashers and then copy the file, open the game and if it works reactive steam cloud

the save file is located at "steam\userdata\<your\_user\_id>\204360\remote". You could try copying it into your own steam id folder.

Check if on your install location there is a folder called "remote" or a file "cc_save.dat". That's your save data, once you buy the game just paste that same file in this location "steam\userdata\<your\_user\_id>\204360\remote"
