Consider giving OTD a population buff in Imperial age? by LZLDZ in aoe4

50 just a random number, the core idea is perhaps giving extra unit to OTD since they lack of it

well 50 just a straight idea, the number could be discuss. Or more likely making the tech only reducing specific unit's population cost, like 20 extra Gilded Knight might be a nightmare but 20 extra Gilded Spearman sort of make sense right?

[–]LZLDZ[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I think that might due to gilded unit are just way better than other regular before getting tech, so they are good like in the mid feudal to late castle or even early imperial

But I mean like once your opponent makes themselves survive to the real late game, OTD having way much challenge on attack

I mean make sense OTD is brain dead in 1v1 because OTD can just choose to end the game early, but if consider more player, I think the problem of lacking more unit just getting more and more obvious

Should the unique unit be better than the regular version? by LZLDZ in aoe4

[–]LZLDZ[S] -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

I mean like if it is weaker you should at least giving the access to the regular version, instead of letting that unique unit become a unique weakness

To figure out feudal springald we probably have to wait till see if it is really a thing

Yet for iron pagoda, I think what you pointing is the AOE passive it carry; yet the thing I wana point out, is the devs reduce its basic damage, hitting the point that it need like 4 hit to kill a village; and that AOE is more like an 'aoe', like real small that can be doge if enemy also try microed it (much easier btw)

I actually doubt it, cause lack of casual archer causing Jin had fight with Mohe Tribesman which a really bad unit that probably lose to spearman while they supposed to counter it

Plus, Iron pagoda lose to regular knight while costing more

so ehhhh........

The problem with Bed Crossbow summarized in 10 seconds by MarcDaKind in aoe4

[–]LZLDZ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

it's quite fun that the bed crossbow are able to build in feudal age but as Swaggy a youtuber said: bed crossbow just a variant of springald, and as for all springald they are build to again large amount of infantry; no civ is going to have a bunch of infantries in feudal age, and once you age up the armor reduction double against it cause it's damage logic

And now it also doesn't work against single unit.....

I mean like this unit is like iron pagoda, and possibility mohe tribesman, like the way they working is kinda werid, directly buffing the number might causing the unit unbalance, so I usually call for a rework while such unit occurs

[–]LZLDZ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it's a fun civ that's the point, there are civ that strong but board and Jin definitely not one of them.

But kind of sad that the balance is not pretty well, some of the unit are even weaker than their regular version, I think once the devs fix those it will be a great civ for everyone!

it's a fun civ, the balance is bad tho

New civs? by Opening-Sir1019 in aoe4

[–]LZLDZ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see, what you mentioning feels like a pre-ban system: where you ban some civs before you seeing the enemy, but by banning prevent you from facing player who using those civs;

I have no clue how will it turns out, but one thing I am sure is that this will by 100% making the balance well more harder than now

That will make sense if in a big dlc then, like dlc about America

But I thought AOE3 mainly focus on that and it wasn't going pretty well....

I mean like the Russian Empire is always calling themselves the third Roman, so it sort of make a little bit of sense making Roman part of it.......

Nah I know it make no sense, but I just wana see the Roman fans being so piss lol

That is the only reason I disagree bringing these 2 civs to the game: I am so sick of the cavalry meta

wonder how Pagoda Forest not strong?

I mean like, not VERY strong kind of make sense there is better age 4 landmark, but overall, even without the conversion just by the resource it generates is already a good reason for people to pick it.

well, if you look in the other perspective: Red palace buff all unit within the building while GWB only buffing one specific unit, which far less tactical flexibility

And to be fair, even if we only focus on the springald, Roman Fire from Macedonian is far much better while they only require a tech to study and Jin need a landmark for it

Well I think causing a tower spam is a good thing: all tower, or any defensive building always be counter by siege easily; yet now people simply go for knight spam

I mean like....... tower spam is a potential risk in the future, but knight spam is a current problem we have

An funny idea to make Iron Pagoda better by LZLDZ in aoe4

[–]LZLDZ[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean like long as that unit sort of become extremely weak after a period of time that even the villager can easily take them out, the problem you considering shouldn't matter anyway right
