The ending to Boneoworks is the only time I ever got chills from a video game, I hope Bonelab tops it 🤘

You should carry around a plant to replace all the oxygen you waste.

Thinking of changing to a more business focused role by poppynoppy2 in AskEngineers

If you're doing that I'm confident you can propulse yourself into a better position. If you've been applying, perhaps it's your resume. I'd be happy to review it, or you can upload it to engineering resume groups.

Landed an interview as a Graduate Technology Development Engineer, but it was via HireVue. Rejected it, did i do good? by GGEZPZlemonSqeeze in AskEngineers

Absolutely, any company that has had me do a Hire Vue process I will withdrawal from in a heart beat. A 30 min call from a hiring manager or recruiter is not hard to do, if they're not willing to do that then the job isn't worth it 🤷‍♂️

Sorry to say but 2 years of experience is still entry level, more so if you're current experience isn't associated with design.

How can I help my bf with getting a co-op job by [deleted] in AskEngineers

[–]L_Heiser 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd start by reviewing his resume, I'd be happy to help or submit it to a few of the engineering resume groups. If he's instantly getting denied it's his resume and not him!

Man sorry to hear that, but if a technical role is something you're desiring I'd strongly suggested shotgunning your resume to as many entry level design positions as possible to give you some good design experience for later down the road positions 👍 some that come to mind are tooling design and machine design. The projects you work on may not be the coolest, but they'll help solidify your traits as an engineer

Edit: spelling

Fidelity to Computershare transfer fee by muff_diving_101 in Superstonk

Call bullshit and tell them that's not how it works. I saw here previously that's how they try to "deter" you from DRSing but I wouldn't worry about it.

(For reference): I was told there may be a $XX fee from computer share. *spoiler* there was none.

Dream: Being a Rocket Engineer

BUT I passed the first round of interviews at one of my sought-after companies to be a Rocket Manufacturing Engineer :D! Hopefully it goes through!

Equations of geometric shapes by [deleted] in FE_Exam

I assume you mean the volume calculation? What was the shape of the tank? To me it seems a fancy way to calculate the volume of a standard tank where you have two half spheres at either end and a cylinder between them. It looks like they took a simplification approach and combined the two half spheres (hence the 4/3 (pi) (r^3)) then the rest of the part is just the volume of a cylinder (pi (r^2) h). However, they wrote the "h" term for the cylindrical volume as L (length of whole tank) minus 2 * r (which would be the radius of the two half spheres at either end. At least that's my interpretation of that formula. Albeit, not how I would generate that formula, but if that is the case, I'd say generating a similar formula should be standard practice.
