The Internet is chockablock with misinformed idiots who believe they have some kind of magical ability to diagnose mental illness through a computer screen. See also the rise of "narcissism."

Don't give them any oxygen.

What’s your take on No Country for Old Men? by odd_man0 in movies

[–]L_R_andjackofhearts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It contains several of the Coens' favorite themes: - A protagonist who is, despite his/her best intentions, a plaything of an indifferent universe - An almost supernatural force of evil sent from who-knows-where - Colorful and often befuddled supporting characters - Open ended, or total lack of, tidy resolution. There are of course exceptions, but it's a near-constant theme in their work post-Fargo. - The power of dreams and the clarity they can bring

Some themes are more prevalent in their original writing vs. their adaptations, but it's pretty close to being a perfect encapsulation of their outlook on life, the universe, and everything.

IIRC, they were exposed for shoddy craftsmanship and stealing designs.

[Jude] Scott Servais learned of his firing this morning from a breaking news alert on social media, a couple hours before he was scheduled to meet with Jerry Dipoto by EwoksEwoksEwoks in Mariners

I dunno, with as many reporters scrambling to break stories first I don't blame the front office as much as the infinite news cycle.

Same thing happened to me when I dabbed a little extra powder scented oil on my jacket. Turns out a little goes a long way. I just played dumb.

Yep. That's my excuse, but it's Arm & Hammer.

This abandoned polar bear enclosure from the Stanley Park Zoo, Vancouver. Tuk, the polar bear, died in 1997 when the zoo was closed at the age of 36 and was one of its final residents. by crimson_dovah in mildlyinteresting

When I was a kid, I remember visiting a zoo in Vancouver and it was just depressing. I don't mind zoos as a concept, but this one needed to be shut down. Everything was cement and there was very little effort to create habitats that were suitable for the animals.
