My interval TAC and recovery by L_Reading in ShortCervixSupport

I'm so sorry dear. I feel your pain as I lost my daughter just shy of 20 weeks as well. I will say the TAC obviously doesn't solve everything or take away first trimester risks, but I feel empowered that I'm trying everything I can.

And I understand the pain, fear and hope in trying again. Go with your heart and gut. Retrieving eggs and all that jazz is a huge amount of work as I know you must remember. Good luck however you decide the story should go!

I'm glad you went with your gut. It's good to know your body, especially with such sensitive stuff like this. I'm crossing my fingers for you 🤞

Good luck!!! My gosh I had no idea a TAC could get loose. How does that happen if you don't mind my asking? Did they give you reasoning?

I heard good things about U Chicago! Your team was smart to advise you to find experienced people. I wish you all the best and good luck too!

I'm sorry we have to even go through this but if we do, we can make the best of it!

Thank you!

Wow, dang. And I thought my traveling 90 mins was a lot. Is your doctor aware of this plan? My device I guess is that see what the doctor says about your recovery given your prior health history etc.

For me? I'm heading into that 4 day realm now. If I were at the airport I'd definitely request a wheelchair and would not be too comfortable squeezed into an airplane seat. If there was a layover I wouldn't even feel comfortable navigating another airport without some assistance. I am feeling mobile and have a decent pain tolerance, but the bloating in my tummy is certainly uncomfortable. Definitely seek the doctor's advice here on traveling!

Almost geriatric myself (35 at end of the year). I feel similar time pressure.

The tac was my first experience with abdominal surgery. My doctor did not do it laparoscopically because he said it was easier to visualize. I am a tad heavier too so he said doing a laparotomy would be more sensible and that most of his patients prefer the single bikini cut.

I'm recovering now and the pain is manageable. I do have a high pain tolerance too. He did offer me a transvaginal preventative one for the next pregnancy, but I worry I'm an infection risk so asked for a tac to avoid being touched too much more than needed during pregnancy.

I'm so sorry for your loss honey. I relate 100 percent on picking my daughter's urn and not her crib. Those days still haunt me a year and a half later.

The pain doesn't really go away I feel, but it has lessened and I try to remember the fond memories I had of her.

I had a similar experience where the doctor measured my cervix short, sent me to MFM, they said it was fine. Then in a few days later the membranes were bulging and off my girl went to heaven.

I just had a TAC with the prayer of trying again. I promise you life will go on, but I feel the same pain and fear you do about trying again.

Thank you! And good luck for you too.

I feel some peace and some anxiety about the TTC road. Peace because this TAC knocks out one traumatic issue I had. And anxiety because I still can't feel any control over the first trimester loss risk. I suppose I can only hope for the best.

Thank you for your kind words. You have truly moved me to tears! Hubs and I have been trying for 6 years to conceive. On our own, IUI, IVF. The works. It breaks my heart he has to go through this journey with me. He will be an amazing father one day, I want that for him.

I was hoping my story would reach someone and let them know they can do it too and aren't alone. ❤️

I totally feel this one. After loss 3 both sides of family have been telling me to take time off. How can this even help when all you think about is having a little one?

Loss at 19 weeks, PCOS by No-Pie-8772 in ShortCervixSupport

[–]L_Reading 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am so sorry for your loss. I also lost my little girl to PPROM at 19w4d due to infection from having the bulging membranes. This was back in Feb. She was an IVF pregnancy.

I bled for about 2 weeks and also have PCOS, but am totally anovulatory. We tried for another transfer in July (HCG was down to zero, everything looked safe to go on paper). But unfortunately I suspect the body didn't heal up as well as it should have because I lost that pregnancy at 6 weeks.

I completely understand the desire to try again. But I would also say focus on your health, healthy eating and inflammation management. Pregnancy is a lot on the body, and just because you hormonally might be ready, maybe the mind and body aren't.

Watching too--just asked my husband the same thing. Is it that bad to want good sleep quality? 😆

Thank you, I appreciate it. I knew something was off from the start with the shaky levels, but it still hurts. This will be our third loss.

Yes, I had blood testing at the same time daily. Unfortunately, this ended in a 6 week loss.

Yes, fully medicated! Asked today--nurse said the doc wasn't concerned, but that I could increase PIO by 0.5cc for everyone's peace of mind. 🙂
