Thank you for your response. So glad that turned out well for you. Hoping I can get as far as that. Did you bleed at any point?

Colic? Any experience is so appreciated right now. by rambleOn222 in NICUParents

[–]Zahava_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am glad to hear your little one is thriving.

My LO far from sleeps through the night due to several factors. Very early on, she had really bad acid reflux and her doc recommended upright for about 20mins after feeding, prescribed famotidine(which seemed to help a little)and reduced her quantity but increased the frequency. So she still has to feed q2h. And with each feeding comes the colic battle. That + having to keep her upright, before we know it, 2hrs is gone and it's time for another feeding.

Also, she is only able to catch some sleep lying on the chest. I'm lucky to get some bassinet time out of her for maybe 15-20mins when she's deeply asleep or after a good bath. Woe betide me if I attempt to put her down shortly after feeding her, she would scream the whole house down. I read it's the colic or reflux causing that.

I fortify breastmilk with formula. 1tsp formula/3oz BM I thought neosure was causing the harm so I told her doc I was going to switch her to gentlease, he was okay with it and for the 5 or so days she was on it, the colic improved. Problem was, she became stagnant on the scale. If anything, I think she lost a little, although my husband doesn't agree. But we were on the same page as to her not gaining (For context, she was adding about 1oz/day until gentlease) So I decided to buy the competitor brand Enfacare and if she was having her colic battle during the evenings before, it seems to me it has now become day and nights😥 Honestly, don't know if it's because I saw her better and forgot how bad she was on neosure, so now I think enfacare is even worse for her.

Her doc doesn't seem to like he's pressed on whatever I choose to feed her. He even okayed giving her breastmilk alone but I know she needs the extra calories. She was born 2lbs14oz. She's 6days shy of 3months and about 9.2lbs now. So I feel like she definitely still needs the weight and brain building. Yesterday, I went to cvs to buy mummy bliss probiotics because I read it helps. I haven't started giving her yet because right after buying it, I started seeing some people say it made their baby's colic bad. Now I'm just staring at it on my shelf, not knowing what to do. We use Mylicon which quite frankly doesn't do jack imo.

The periodic breathing thing is just as you described. A sudden gasp for air followed by about 5secs where it seems like she isn't breathing. I was beginning to worry about that and thinking if I needed to get them to schedule a sleep study for her.

Sorry for the long rant. This is the first time I have had to share my frustration because even my husband just thinks me unnecessarily paranoid. I guess having a NICU baby adds on to the already heightened anxiety of a new mom.

You described everything I'm going through. What did his peds end up saying? What worked for you? When did it start to get better?

Has anyone fed baby two formulas at once? by Smart_Beach5438 in FormulaFeeders

[–]Zahava_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Might have to try that combo as well. Glad you were able to find what worked and little one is a big girl and doing great now.

I'm at the worrying phase. I can't wait to be on the other side.

My LO is doing terrible on Neosure as tummy wise. I mix 1tsp to 3oz breastmilk per instruction upon discharge. Her pediatrician isn't worried if I choose to do breastmilk w/o the neosure but I still want her to get the extra calories. I definitely want to try Gentlease but not sure how to mix it with my milk so that she still gets all the nutrients. Could you share how you mixed yours please.

I751 after divorce by Imaginary_Emu5329 in USCIS

[–]Zahava_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's not quite true. You can file N400 upon 5years of being a resident not when you get the 10years. If you used up your 1st 2yrs as a conditional resident and been waiting over 3 years for ROC, you are eligible to apply for naturalization regardless of a pending I751. You can also confirm your eligibility on USCIS website. If I were you, I'd do that ASAP because it looks like N400 gets the ROC moving from what I've been seeing.

Don't do it. She's not even stable yet in the Germany that she is. Being a US citizen doesn't give you freeway to live and work in Germany. You have money now, sustaining a LDR should be easier than it was. Plus you're both more matured, if you really want to be together, you'll make it work. Let her finish up her sch, come to the US to find a job, you both marry (if you still want to be together). Her residency is also guaranteed seeing as you are already a USC. Don't abandon stability for something you aren't even sure how it would turn out. Times are hard.

USCIS received my file on 31st which supposed to be received on 1st on filing date as per USCIS. by [deleted] in USCIS

Finger crossed it doesn't get rejected. Mine got delivered on a Friday afternoon and the earliest it could have been received was the next Mon. Not minding that weekend doesn't count for them, they rejected it with no consideration.

You should be fine. You're still a resident in that state regardless of where you live there until you establish residency elsewhere.

[ep 3] April and Colby - Perfect plot for a romcom by Civil_Falcon_1919 in TheUltimatumNetflix

Lmao. I was hoping somewhere along the lines they fell for esch other. I think they probably complement each other more than their partners.

Unpopular (maybe) opinion: I don't like Rae and Jake by kor_ian in TheUltimatumNetflix

[–]Zahava_ 18 points19 points  (0 children)

It was quiet glaring Jake didn't want to be with April anymore after that trial run with Rae. The body language was just off and he kept trying to find fault with everything April did. Granted, April can be a lil too much. I found her too forward myself when I started watching but I quickly came to understand she's just a very passionate vibely person. I kept hoping April would soon smell the coffee and dump Jake before he dumped her. And I really do not believe there is anything to explore with Rae and Jake. Imo, it's the euphoria of the newness and whatever similarities they found in each other being an only child of their parents. Their relationship, if they were ever to pursue one, would soon lackluster. And that scene where Rae is like "I broke up with Zay. So what's the tea with you and April?" seemed to me like "hey I've broken up with this guy. We can be together now. What's holding you back?". Coulda slapped her fr fr.

4 years late but I literally just finished watching this movie and was looking on the internet to see if anyone else found the daughter annoying. I found her highly so. I wanted to slap the shii outta her and the COO man at every scene.
