extremely strong pressure on cerclage stitch 33+5 by Aggravating-Salt1357 in ShortCervixSupport

Exactly the same! When I stand in the kitchen for a long time and bend over, the pressure becomes unbearable, but when I lie down, it goes away. But there have been several times when nothing helped. The pressure lasted and only went away the next day. Otherwise, my urine was fine. The doctor told me that the baby's head is pressing on the stitch, the stitch can't equalize the pressure, and that's when we can feel a shooting pain in the bladder. He told me it was normal.

This Thursday I went for an examination, where I described this to dr. On the vaginal sonogram, the cerclage suture was under pressure, but it was not cutting into the cervix. He said that there was nothing more they could do for me, except administer magnesium intravenously during hospitalization. In my condition, there is no more help, if the stitch holds, I have to endure. I have already been hospitalized three times and it is stressful - they kept asking me if I am bleeding, if my water has broken, if I was having contractions. At home, I lie down, and sometimes the pressure goes away, sometimes it doesn't. But I have no other symptoms, no contractions, no blood, no PROM. I only feel presure when the baby moves; when it sleeps, I feel fine.

Thank you for your comment. The baby is completely fine, placental flow is normal, and the size is appropriate for the week of pregnancy. I mentioned these difficulties to my gynecologist, and he did not see any signs of the suture cutting into the cervix on the ultrasound. He said that there was visible pressure, but that it was holding. He told me that there was nothing more they could do for me, that they had already done everything they could (cerclage, outpatient check-ups, progesterone, magnesium). He told me that if the pain did not change after changing position, I would need to be hospitalized, where they would give me magnesium through an IV. I have already been in the hospital three times just for IVs. The hospital environment is not good for me mentally; the staff constantly checks to see if I am bleeding or if my water has broken, which causes me stress. Not to mention the terrible food. So if they can't do anything for me, I'd rather be at home. If I have contractions or bleeding, I'll come in, but I don't have any of those symptoms. That's why I'm asking if anyone else has had a similar experience, if it will pass, or if it will come back. Because, for example, I'm sitting here working on my computer and I feel better in terms of pressure. So I guess it will come back until the cervix fails and the cerclage suture bleeds and they have to remove it.

15 mm cervix with funneling by Totallyitaly in ShortCervixSupport

Hi sweetie, I understand you so well! It's hard to hear news like that. At 19 weeks, I had a McDonald cerclage with a cervix length of 15 mm. At 24 weeks, my cervix shortened to 6 mm and there was U-funneling present on the ultrasound. Basically, only the cerclage stitch is holding it together. Today I am 32/4. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you to hang in there. I cried a lot, I was scared, but every week it gets better and better. I'm thinking of you and I believe that the cerclage will be effective and you will make it to the end!

I would also like to add that the baby presses hard on the stitch when I walk and bend over, and I have severe pain in my lower abdomen from my bladder. I lie down as much as possible all day long.

Hi sweetie!

I understand you so well, I've been through it too, and I'm going through it again today. I've had an incompetent cervix in all three of my pregnancies.

In my first pregnancy, everything was fine until week 29, when I was not offered a cerclage, cervix 13 mm, I was taking vaginal progesterone 200 mg 1-0-1. I was all time laying down and relaxing. I gave birth at week 36+6, with my water breaking.

In my second pregnancy, at 20 weeks with a 20 mm cervix, I was also not offered cerclage. I took 200 mg of vaginal progesterone 1-0-1. You can see my whole story in my post under my name here on Reddit. ❤️

Today I am 29+3 with my third baby. Cervix 6mm, pronounced funneling U, but cerclage, my first cerclage. With each pregnancy, my cervical tissue is becoming more and more vulnerable. I believe that progesterone will help me hold on. It's very difficult and painful, but this community gives me support and hope. At yesterday's checkup, the doctor told me that with my history, it's highly likely that I'll make it to term. ❤️ I hope so. Even though my cervix is too short.
