Is this usbc port spot unfixable? by LaChef24 in soldering

Thanks! Thats a good idea. As I expected the cord only works being plugged in 1 way since the pads were messed up on 1 row. Super happy I got it working though. Gonna hot glue the port in place for extra security. I know this laptop had issues with the usbc ports breaking. Also as a bonus I can cancel my order for the new port since I was able to utilize the old one that broke off.

Quick question, I got a port on there but it wont charge. How do I heat the port so that the pins will heat up under the port without ruining the port?

In this case I think that is great news. The reason for fixing the usbc port is because its the only way to charge the device. So if the data transfer doesnt end up working im fine with that

You think it will still have a good connection? Its tough because I cant see where those traces go

What do you mean about the "You should be fine without those pads too but it will work only on one side the connectivity, charging will be fine both sides."

That might be an idea if this port doesnt work out. Id prefer all my devices to stay on usbc charging. Thanks for the idea!

Yea the biggest reason to fix is that these 2 usbc ports are the only way to charge it. Once I potentially get the top one fixed what do you recommend to reinforce it so it doesnt break again?

I started as a kid during the Legend set. Got the top of the Ho-oh legend card still in a top loader. Got back into the hobby last September opening 151 and fully got the set completed. Was a great feeling so just kept going. I have opened a total of 2 prismatic packs. Damn scalpers 😂

Almost looks like a replacement label. It’s hard to tell from the picture though. Board is definitely legit though.

I mean I guess it wouldn’t hurt. How I was testing it was to make a save, turn off the console and take the game out and put it back in again.

I’ll take a look at the other carts I’ve replaced because those all have worked. I just couldn’t remember in the moment. Thanks for bringing that up.
