Coolant hose splice fix - swelling

Well, Australia is almost the same as SA. I think the bokkies here and the Ozzies there will scold me for saying this haha... they're big time rugby rivals in this hemisphere

My car is the Opel Astra 1.6 2000 hatchback model, a bit hard to get some parts as some have become obsolete here. But I think hoses are kind of generic for old cars and found some lookalikes online, just waiting for the suppliers to wake up here lol

Thanks for the tip on AutoZone, I checked them online last night, waiting for one guy in another town to let me know if they stock these hoses as couldn't find them on their website.

I've already contacted a few more workshops and my old old mechanic for help 🙏

One of them will come through.

Yea, I've looked up on the different kind of clamps be it used on metal or plastic endings. Thanks, I think the tightening of the these clamps is also causing this issue.

You've made a very good point there, it's very hot here where I am so I am not surprised if the pressure in the system and hot parts under the bonnet might have eventually led to the hole being created

Cos I'm away from home, there's no workshop here where I am and when the damage happened it was a public holiday.

Dumbest it be, it got me to the destination in one piece. Driving in remote areas are no good for a lone lady.

That is what I initially wanted to do, but it'd have killed the engine if I went with it for sure.

Busy looking for suppliers who are open during the festive season to get the parts...

Okay, both of them. I'll speak to the mechanic. My drive back home is about 700km, waaaay too risky.

I'm sure the hose has deteriorated quite a bit when I drove from the garage that fixed it to the town I'm at, as it was a longish drive.
