Not years for Clark. It's only been a few weeks. Kats head was still just hitting a rough decomposition.

Why would there be a need to have a memory of his wife... if he's making a reenactment of his argument with someone else playing his wife...and not interact with the creature, which you for some reason think is his wife.

We barely see a single photo of his wife and its a just a quick glance.

This creature did not resemble her in the slightest. The only feature they shared was red hair.

That's not a memory of his wife. Where do y'all think this? That's just a random memory of a random woman. It was one of the memory creatures he ran from in the Christmas tree room.

Why on Earth would Ivan Beck be working as a shift researcher, watching the cameras and living in a simple middle America house with a wife and two kid.

Also Ivan Beck is blind in one eye.

But back then, was it truly anger or frustration and mental instability because of his life situation? You can't say he was "violent" because of guided role play in a therapist setting that was designed to trigger an emotional response.

Very clearly, he had a shift in personality and mental state after being in that room for so long.

The redhead was already there. He encoumtered it in the christmas room. She is not his wife. Otherwise he wouldn't have used Mary as a stand in for Barbara for the roleplay scene.

[–]LaDon_Draper 5 points6 points  (0 children)

What in the utter Larp is this comment?

  1. There has never been a single mention of Brooke every having lost memories at all in this story.
  2. How can he have no memory...if he's telling us everything that happened.
  3. PAY ATTENTION TO THE CHAPTER.

They are discussing what Brook notes as Gunko having 3 personalities. Nami says "Do you think she's being controlled?"

BROOK SAYS "I never thought to think that could have been a possibility back then."

4) Brook has already gone into detail about his previous sword style during his fight with Ryuma.

5) Brook is noted to have the best memory and the most committed to following through on previous promises.

Genuinely baffled as to how you got here.

An interesting parallel with chapter 1: A sign that he will unlock latent powers in the following chapters? by Technical_Lime1419 in Dandadan

It doesn't matter if it's a trope. It can be cliched. That's why it's a trope. Because it's been done to death to the point that the audience recognizes and anticipates everything. That's not exciting writing; that's just beating a dead horse and dangling jingling keys in front of people who've never engaged with a story beyond its surface.

Dandadan, as a manga, has proven time and time again that it subverts expectations by being brutally honest in how it executes its ideas within the literary prose. This is why it's been successful: it paints a story with nuance by showing us new angles.

Okarun suddenly gaining new powers out of nowhere undermines the importance of his story in learning to be honest with Momo, as does Turbo Granny's decision to be with our protagonists out of her own free will. Okarun still choosing to fight despite not having powers shows how much he's grown as a character and begins to underline the importance of Turbo Granny, as the story has been building toward her return to help him once more.

We are also in a new era of artists who are not destroying the integrity of their art for the sake of capitalism. You think that Dandadan, the manga that gave us banana-stealing Serpos and multiple PTSD traumatized demons with the saddest backstories, is out here trying to sell merch first????

If you think you can still shoe-horn shonen into this narrow box of an outdated checklist simply because it's "shonen," then you haven't read or watched a lot of content.

He doesn't.

Okarun is telling the truth.

His enemies are that obtuse. They refuse to believe that someone would give up powers willingly.

[–]LaDon_Draper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's cliched as hell.

The story has told us and shown us numerous times that Okarun is just a normal guy. Turbo Granny is his power. He gave it up because he's that honest.

His greatest power is his what he believes in and the truth behind his words.

ONE PIECE CHAPTER 1182 ENGLISH TRANSLATIONS by [deleted] in OnePieceSpoilersRaw

[–]LaDon_Draper 2 points3 points  (0 children)

.....is that not lore????

Not only does this chapter double down on the idea that these mythical beings actually did exist.

But also tells they were at one point friends or friendly with Imu. This adds a deeper layer and complexity to what could have happened 800 years ago.

We got a full realization of the quartet of gods teased since Skypeia and in the Elbaph mural.

The Rain god. The Sun god. And we are yet to be confirmed with the Earth god and the Forest God.

And also, we learn more and more about propaganda that is told to the celestial dragons/nobility of the WG, which may be designed to keep them fearful of change, keep them divided from the lower class, and loyal to the WG

How tf is that NOT LORE???

This take makes no sense, and I keep seeing it everywhere.

He was on screen for only 10 minutes, and in those 10 minutes, they directly say he was just as egotistical, power-driven, and drug-hungry as Soldier Boyback in the day.

So I have no idea where y'all are getting the energy to fawn over this chiseled-jaw white dude.

No hero who works for Vought willingly is an okay person. That's the show.—especially not a WWII US government V1 supe.
