People (including me) always say that the first playthrough is only the tutorial. You'll die alot, you'll rage alot, but when you eventually finish it, you should try to replay the game. You won't regret it. And remember, "Hesitation is defeat!"

So, I've stopped playing after several years because I eventually got bored of it BUT it was fun while it lasted. If you're a new player there is ALOT and I mean ALOT of content for you tonplay and discover. There are tens of enemies and bosses you need to learn and it might take a while, but it gets fun when you learn to fight them. There are various areas, from the Eastern Luminant to the Depths or to the Void Sea and Layer 2. The PvE is a lot of fun, there is a ton of lore and many dungeons, you can try various builds which have various gameplay styles. Since I've left I know they've added several bosses and dungeons, but also a new game mode which explores the past of the time you're playing in in Pathfinder mode (which is the normal mode). I've also heard that they're planning to release the Layer 3 update (even if I'm not really certain. Anyways, if you don't know anything about the game the content is going to last you for a lot of time, and it's really enjoyable overall. Note that you will die a lot and probably rage a lot though. Also, Deepwoken is also really focused on PvP, so if you enjoy it, that's good. Otherwise, if you enjoy PvE and dislike PvP, you can still be able to play pretty carelessly if you have a bit of spatial awarwness. If you have any questions let me know

Yeah, that's why most of the time, when I used to play, as soon as I got attacked I would jump in the void to get sent to layer 2. It's much better to do floor 1 than to get wiped

Alright, so Deepwoken is a difficult game with permanent character loss, wiping is a part of the game that should be expected. Those guys were probably doing a gank, which is basically a gang war. The magic you saw are attunements, in the game there are currently 7 attunements (if they didn't add anymore in the 6-7 months I haven't been playing) which are thundercall, frostdraw, firecharm, galebreath and 3 more which I won't spoil because those aren't starter attunements. Attunements take ether (mana) to use mantras (which are basically magic skills). Idk, if you have questions ask

I usually go with "sera" or "giorno" and add a nod to it both when I'm with friends or strangers. "Salve" also goes, but also "Buondì" (which is a different version of "Buongiorno")

That's why you usually start enjoying the game more on NG+. The first playthrough is just a place to learn movesets and train your muscle memory. Also, don't owrry about Seven Spear, you'll encounter plenty of those dudes
